Jalen Ramsey has asked for trade (merged)

I suspect that his agent would be encouraging him to play if possible. He knows that Ramsey is coming off as selfish now. Especially since the owner has publicly stated he would make him the highest paid corner ever and Jalen is still publicly stating that "His trade request stands". All the while being on an excused leave of absence.

But, "He don't want to be no distraction ", right?

The only people distracted are the media.

My guess is the locker room is doing just fine.

Agreed. Players will keep on playing. Next man up. All of this Minshew Mania softens any blows that this sideshow act keeps drumming up here as well. As long as that kid continues to move the ball on offense and they're scoring points early they'll be able to pin their ears back defensively. At that point you don't have to be overly concerned with his absence.

These next few games are winnable. Denver, Carolina & New Orleans should be favorable. I like this team's odds at the moment. Just need to keep on rallying around Minshew.

I think everyone is forgetting what an asset Ramsey is at CB. The defensive line was garbage until their 3rd game and the Titans had Lewan out. Minshew has been great at times but it seems as if the offensive playcalling has not been playing to Minshews strengths. They keep trying to focus on the run when the line sucks and then Minshew is suppose to pull out stuff but he gets scared a lot and runs after a second or two in the pocket. Just pull out the air raid and let this man go nuts like he did for Wash St.

FWIW, Nate Burleson thinks Ramsey will play. Ramsey has been very open with Nate so hopefully Ramsey plays this weekend. The defense is better with him.

I am sure roughly 90% of this fan forum is fully aware of what Ramsey brings to the team and table overall. But... if he doesn't want to be here he doesn't want to be here. And there's no reason for this team to [BLEEP] around with him like the Steelers did with LeVeon Bell. They probably regret not shipping him off now like they did Antonio Brown.

Ramsey is still young. Still relatively either in his prime or hasn't even fully hit his prime yet. But, again, there's no sense in keeping him here if he wants to keep being a little [BLEEP] [BLEEP] diva about everything because somebody said something to him that rubbed him the wrong way. At this point he can go. We're all tired of it.

CB's don't win you Championships anyway. QB's do. Adding more players and value picks to build around Minshew or Foles or to potentially land a legit QB in the event Minshew and Foles cannot deliver is ideal at this time. I think everyone is forgetting that it takes a team to win games. Not just one player. And Ramsey is putting himself above and clearly beyond his teammates at the moment.

They're addressing and acknowledging the shortcomings on offense already and that's a good sign because they're still technically in the first month of football. I expected them to be 1 - 3. If they beat Denver and go 2 - 2 without Foles that's an impressive feat. They should have [BLEEP] beat the tinhorns too. Should be looking at a 3 - 1 record instead of 2 - 2 going into October. I think they'll be just fine with or without Ramsey. I really do...

On this matter nobody can deny that. I am all for him playing until such time he is no longer a Jag. After that? Who cares.

I fully agree we should be 2-1 right now looking at 3-1. That crap call on the goal line against Texans was just abysmal whether you look at it from the playcall standpoint or the fact that many think he was in and it wasn't called right. Either way I'm still up in the air about Minshew. I think he can be an absolute monster but I think we need more pieces on offense and the playcalling to open it up more for him. I absolutely do think that a better offense can take the defense minus Ramsey quite a long way down the road though. I still wish Ramsey would get his head out of his [BLEEP] and realize that outside of Coughlin and his mouth, this team wants him here and so do the fans IF he gets over his BS.

Ramsey this, Ramsey that. I just cannot help to wonder that had he caught that breadbasket pick six and they won would the situation still be so?

Also would give a kings ransom to know what exact words were said to him to cause all this "Disrespect" he felt, you know since " Respect means a lot to him" and all. Seems to me the only respect he demands be shown towards him. The other way? Not so much.

The Jags should make Nate our Assistant Head Coach, effective immediately ..... lol

Yup, where was the respect for the coaching staff on the sideline?

To some, honesty is disrespectful

I don't think anyone would say with a straight face that Ramsey doesn't have the potential to be the best defensive back ever to play the game. He's crucial to this defense and anyone here saying that he isn't is hopelessly jaded by his antics. At some point, though, either you're here or you're not, and if he makes it clear that he intends not to be here, then you have to look at ways of making that happen without hurting your team. Whether that's a trade, whether it's a "play here or get placed on reserve/left squad" ultimatum, whether it's a new contract, who cares at this point? Either he's here or he's not, and if he's not it's by choice, and choices have consequences.

If Ramsey is traded or placed on R/LS, I would put even money on at least Coughlin being gone at the end of the year, because everything we've seen, heard and read so far tends to put the seeds of this at his footsteps.

I can definitely say it with a straight face.

1st 2nd 3rd and Goeddert

Ramsey doesn't get enough INTs in order to be the best CB to ever play

Man, I wonder what kind of attitude the player being traded to us would have. Ball out to demonstrate the mistake they made or not?
