The New Era of Gardner Minshew stunted by Jags HC

(This post was last modified: 09-27-2019, 07:00 PM by Jagsbch.)

Minshew Mojo rising. How far has this guy come since the community college stunt to play the game he loved? How far can he go, if the scheme doesn’t stunt his growth with a mediocre predictable status it’s been in for how long now? Decades? Same scheme different coach? It’s like some kind of curse!

Check out the jorts in the full pic. Minshew rocking the cut up legs! Legs that led all the RBs in rushing the game the coach decided to make the RB the option for the two point conversion despite Minshew’s legs and arm leading us up to the gates of the promise land. Is it true that Minshew has never failed to make a two point conversion pass?

But nothing will help as much as at least a respectable running game. He's had a good (perhaps great) stretch but there will be speed bumps along the way. Right now we need to have another dimension to lean on some times or Minshew Mania will be an outdated fad real quick.

Agreed completely!

We need the running game to show a pulse to have a shot later in the season, whether with Minshew or Foles.

Another game where it takes us an entire half to score only 6 points. That’s two games this season that happened. Hell the other two it took us three quarters to score 6. Two and a half games out of four where we are averaging less than three points per quarter.

Is our scoring offense so anemic that it needs 10 and a half minutes to score from behind on a single drive? Is JDR back at the helm? Run run pass from the very first drive to the series that the Minchews magic TD heard round the world. He managed to overcome both the opponents and the cursed predictable ultra conservative mediocre scheme on offense. Carrying this HC!

We let 10 3rd downs go unconverted? We only converted four? We were two for six in the red zone? We need to flip the script, we open up the half with four three and outs, granted one was a four and out, but is there a difference in this run run pass on obvious 3rd down offense? A tell tell sign of poor coaching are all the stupid false start penalties by the offensive line, the last unit that ought to be having issues with an Oline coach at the HC position.

Given the 250+ yards rushing, I think it’s safe to say the Oline is not the issue. What line can withstand such a predictable mediocre scheme? This team was in the AFC championship game last year! It has tremendous talent, talent whose potential is being stunted by this cowardly style approach? Is it a higher percentage play to throw it out of your end zone on first or third.

You have your QB crawling on his knees the first play of the game? Who defers at mile high? Defense needs a couple drives to adjust, the offense has an opportunity to get the momentum rolling in our favor if we but took an aggressive faith building approach. It’s as if the HC is sending the signal that he is not bought in to the Minshew legend, putting the breaks on an offenses potential with an antiquated scheme.

It disgusts me beyond belief to see this team being led by a knuckle head.

That's an awful lot of pissing and moaning. Enough to rival the whiniest of all Jags "fans" on this board... ever.

Maybe you should cut and paste this in a few more threads?

There have been plenty of excuses as to why this offense has been pedestrian at best.  One is the run game philosophy and the other is the OC needing to be replaced in years past.  Our team is confusing with the new NFL being a passing league and us fighting to stay in the 70s.  We will have to ride it out unless we make some changes up top because this is the Jaguars approach and whether its blaming the coaches or the players, nothing will change.

Pretty strong adjectives you're using....
With all due respect maybe you should be like ramsey and "demand" a new team that wins.
But you seem like a positive guy...relax and enjoy the ride.
