Cann  did not try to get anyone hurt, His poor play may have resulted in injury or sacks on the quarterback but it’s an insult to say that he’s trying to get them hurt.

I think knarnn was engaging in a little time-honored hyperbole, but I can see where he's hyperbolically coming from. There was one play where Bradley Chubb (IIRC) beat Cann badly, very badly, and instead of shoving Chubb away from the QB or even holding him, he literally stood there and watched Chubb level Minshew. There are times where it's better to take the hold than let your QB get slammed by a defender coming in at full speed because you suck.

Plus, 1st and 20 is a lot better than 2nd and 17.  Just like a DB who gets burned, better off just grabbing the guy than letting him score a TD.

Sorry somehow I screwed up and posted three times .

Yeah it wasn’t meant to be literal. I know Cann isn’t at home sitting in his office coming up with malicious ways on how to get the QB hurt. But he’s not doing a good job. The overall protection and run blocking  improved the moment Richardson took his spot in the line up. I think it’s time to end the Cann experiment as a starter. But I know they’ll continue to rotate the guards for whatever reason.

What I'm not quite getting is why Marrone said he plans to continue rotating Cann and Richardson.  Richardson is clearly night-and-day better in the run game, so is Doug worried about his pass protection? I'm thinking we'd be better off building consistency with Richardson by keeping him in there.
