Donald Payne for MLB...

#41

The dude is a tackling machine.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Payne may not be making tackles at the line of scrimmage and instead is getting guys 10 yards down the field, but if he wasn't there, who would be making those tackles? And the most alarming thing is he has 57 tackles through 4 games. Myles Jack had 66 through 11.

He's undersized and often late to the ball, but he does get there and make a tackle at least.

Fringe backup in my book. Calitro too to a lesser degree, he's still really raw and more easily duped than Payne at this stage.

At the least, Payne and Calitro would be very good on special teams and reserve linebackers next season. Jags still need to draft a more athletic middle linebacker in the first 3 rounds and move Jack to outside linebacker.

Have this team admit they made a mistake? NEVER!

Not a good NFL starter by any means, but can be a solid guy in a pinch. He tracks the ball fairly well. His play this year will most likely earn him a roster spot elsewhere next year as a backup.
