There’s no way anyone takes a QB #1 overall and they sit for a year. That doesn’t even happen to 2nd rd QBs anymore

Maybe. We’ve seen it happen before with Brees/Rivers (traded for Eli of course). You saw the blueprint with Mahomes/Smith
