The confederates lost. Why should they get statues? Seriously.

Some posters on here will be horrified by how the protests are now totally peaceful. They know their only chance to stop this message was to be able to point at violence and looting and say "these animals have no message and deserve nothing from America". They know that was Trump's best chance of emerging from this with any momentum too. As it is, the message is now being heard louder and clearer than ever.

I'm glad they are demonstrating peacefully.

Even if your orange crush does somehow get another 4 years, this message isn't going anywhere.

Sure it is.

What is your change agent? Changing your profile picture on social media isn't going to help. The MSM is drowning out the real message with all of the other stuff and diluting everything relevant.

Remember how outraged people get at oil spills then are right back at the responsible companies station a month later? News cycles pass, people forget.

I find it hilarious and tragic in equal measures that, after I haven't really said anything about the orange one in any of my posts here, the second I mention him SC pops up within minutes to come defend his one true love.

As a grown man, don't you find it kinda embarrassing to essentially be a fanboy of another grown man? You remind me of those little k-poppers on Twitter.

Careful, you're talking about one of our Mods with that comment. Might get a warning for your insolence.

You are just allergic to facts and don't know how to function when basic common sense is thrown at you. Nothing I said has anything to do with Trump.

Let's check back next year at this time.

There are facts ignored in this thread.

This is a gross mischaracterization of any position on this board. While I don't disagree with your statement regarding this hurting Trump, no one here has advocated against the peoples' right to peaceful protests.

Nobody here supported what happened in Washington, D.C.? Aggressively clearing peaceful protestors for a photo-op?

2 things:

1. There were mitigating circumstances that fundamentally make that instance different than other peaceful protests. I'm not even talking about whether or not people were throwing bottles or messing with structures as some people claim. It was just before curfew, so people needed to start clearing out anyways. Protests still continued AND continue in DC. That SPECIFIC protest was shut down so the President could get his photo op. While I think it was a stupid and unnecessary PR move, it's ridiculous to equivocate that dumb stunt with shutting down protests and using it as an example of a widespread policy, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

2. The opening line and accusation of that post is that some posters here want all protests shut down, and they are sad to see the violence ends because it doesn't give them a reason to send people home. No one here has said that and it is an affront to civil dialogue.

Even if you want to agree with my first point (to which I don't really care to argue... it was a stupid move by the President, and I didn't agree with it), my second point stands on it's own. It's a gross mischaracterization of people here, not based in facts or reason.

My oh my I do declare that is an affront to civil dialogue and a gross mischaracterization of the fine people of this here political section!

You regularly assert that everything that liberals suggest is part of some grand communist conspiracy to overthrow the country and that we are puppets to our diabolical antifa masterminds, yet my suggestion that some conservatives on this board do not have the purest of intentions is met with pearl-clutching of the highest order.

As I have stated before, I do believe that your intentions are in the right place, and that ultimately you want a society that is fair for all, even if I completely disagree with your way of thinking. But surely you must be able to see that the arguments you make (black culture is to blame for their hardships, not racism, and welfare is a trap to keep them in poverty) have often been, and continue to be, used by people who do not share your good intentions, and, frankly, do not care one iota about improving the lives of black people in America.

Look, dude. I am talking about the leaders behind these thought movements. Never once have I cast an accusation at a single poster on this board or made a blanket statement suggesting users arguing with me are secret communists. Republicans have their fair share of crooks and manipulators. When you want to discuss it, learn something and present it here. You will likely find me on your side. I have NEVER said everything liberals do is part of some grand communist conspiracy. I have clearly stated that there is a globalist/socialist agenda being driven by the elite progressives that fund and shape the narrative. I can make the distinction. Can you? I can provide evidence for these claims. Can you?

You, on the other hand, are not suggesting that conservatives here have some alternate agenda because of the evidence. You are doing it based on your opinion of what you think they think. That is worthless. Furthermore, even if we assume there may be some really warped dude who visits this site, who is secretly hoping for violence so Trump can get reelected, it is unworthy of making a blanket statement aimed at the multitude of posters here who have disagreed with you. Give me and example of a poster here stating the things you claim and attack him specifically. Oh, that's right... you can't. That's why you rely on straw men.

As to your last paragraph, there are some people who make those arguments. Yes. I also agree they don't care about blacks in America, not out of hate, but in the same way no one cares what the community in the other sub-division is doing unless it affects them. Conservatism, in the US, is individualistic by nature, and I have recognized that as a fault. In fact, I feel it is directly responsible for the elite progressives being able to gain a foothold in disenfranchised communities and destroy their sense of self. Regardless, I don't think people are obligated to solve someone else's problems. And before you try to argue with this, please write down the long list of all the problems you're attempting to resolve. We care what is largely in front of our faces, which is also why we're so easy to manipulate.

Let's just be clear that indifference is not the same as racism.
