Straighter is a CB coming off an injury. He was a ball hawk before getting hurt.

So no TEs? How is that even possible? This is the best situation for any UDFA.

Still kinda early in the process.  May sign another guy or two.

There isn't much left in the way of TE's

Speaking of TEs, I just say a press conference with Urban Meyer, and he was asked about the possibility of Collin Johnson making the switch. Meyer said he considered it for a bit, but said he didn't think he would have the frame to do it. He actually said Shenault's frame was better suited to make that switch-though he did not indicate Shenault would make the switch.

UM did say that TE remains a concern.

One has to wonder if a trade is in the works.

Trade Minshew and Taylor for a TE.

A trade HAS to be in the works. I can’t believe they’d actually be cool with this TE group

Maybe we'll get Hayden Hurst since Atlanta has Pitts.

Hurst or Ertz should definitely be on their way here.

We drafted a TE. We got Farrell when we probably should have taken brevin jordan

Love to get Ertz.

Someone tell Baalke that Ertz tore his ACL . . . Baalke will be on the next plane to Philadelphia.

Farrell is a blocking TE.

But he is a TE. And he did have some good catches - maybe he can develop that skill more.

It sounds like the reason Ertz hasn't been traded yet is because Philly is asking for too much for him. That is what reporters who cover the Eagles have been saying on places like Twitter. I read they might have been trying to get a 3rd for him. I'm not sure when he might leave that team.

The Jags are dragging their feet on trading Gardner, even though I do believe they could have traded him and received a tight end as apart of compensation for him. They had ample opportunity the past few days to make a trade for him, but didn't do anything. Atlanta could have been an ideal situation as they didn't have any other QB's on the roster besides Matt Ryan a few days ago. They just signed AJ McCarron, but I believe they would have taken Gardner if the Jags offered. The Jags could have possibly gotten Hurst in exchange.

OJ Howard maybe could have been an option as well. Granted, he's coming off injury, but that is up Trent's alley lol. Maybe something could have been done there with a trade involving Gardner. It looks like the Bucs wanted another QB as evidenced by them taking Kyle Trask. I believe they could have taken Gardner had the Jags possibly approached them, before they made that pick.

But it doesn't seem like the Jags are trying very hard to trade Gardner right now, though they could exchange him for some needed help at TE. They did sign CJ and haven't really talked about keeping Gardner or any plans they have for him as backup. Heck, Urban has been more vocal about wanting to keep Tavern Bryan than he has about keeping Gardner.

I'd take a shot on the Niners backup TE O'Dwelley. Hes covered when Kittle went down and while hes no Kittle, he did a lot of what Kittle does. Good route runner and receiver, just different to what we have.

No idea what hed cost but that position still looks a worry. And there have been plenty of chances to improve it.
