Some insightful stuff in there on Pederson's QB approach/philosophy.

I would like to get excited but Ball Achy is still there and well... past success seems to be our future failure.

Pederson is saying all the right things. I believe he can be the guy to right the Lawrence ship.

Wouldn't be a first choice but the guy has exp at HC in the NFL and he even won a SB. I think at worst the guy will make us mediocre which would be a huge improvement.

As long as he doesn't keep Baalke I am ok with him as the HC.

Khan reads article, swipes left, asks Baalke if anyone on the staff can do “that stuff”.

This is where I’m at as well.  Not my first choice but he does check a lot of boxes for me.

I would go for Pederson, but is he going to call his own play or will he bring a play caller? I like one of the up and coming offensive coordinators as a choice too like I mentioned 10 times already in the other head coaches threads.

Not sure. My guess is that he ends up poaching Mike Groh or Press Taylor from Frank Reich's staff to run the offense though if he's not wanting to drive it himself. He might look at pulling that other guy out of Minnesotta [college team] that was with him in Philadelphia as well.

If getting Pederson means keeping Baalke, I want no part of him. What good is having a good coach when your terrible GM drafts all the wrong guys?

This. The team needs a purge from the GM all the way down to the equipment manager. NOTHING needs to be held over from previous regimes.

I'm fine with Pederson as long as Baalke doesn't stick around. But I'm fine with most coaches as long as Baalke doesn't stick around. Hopefully we get some good news next week on that front.

I agree in large part - there are several coach candidates who I'd be satisfied with, but there is no acceptable path forward that includes Baalke.

I heard Frank Frangie (sp?) talking yesterday about the fans' uprising over Baalke. His take was that the fans don't really know what Baalke has done, they just want a clean sweep.

I disagree with that. When Baalke was hired I saw a lot of criticism about him and his track record. Those complaints have continued on to this day. I think a lot of fans believe (correctly) that Baalke is not good as a GM and makes poor decisions.

I haven't seen any major uprisings to fire the OC, DC or any of the coaching staff. Fans are protesting about Baalke because they understand who he is, have seen what he's done and they want him fired.

My biggest hangup is how we went out with a bang in Philly, but then our last coach tried that too.  Tongue

He's got a ton of experience both as player and coach, and that will go a long way to teaching a young group of men to develop into a professional team. We've needed that for a while. We could absolutely do worse than him, but I'm not really covetous about any one coach at this point. Just give me someone who won't maintain our status of trainwreck, and I'll be able to get by.
