To counter, though, if someone offers you a job, and you voice reservations about working alongside someone high up in the building, the hiring panel would be poorly served to not ask what you would suggest to resolve their discomfort.

I don't *think* (read: not stating fact, merely supposition) that Byron made this Wilson or bust type of ultimatum. If we rolled with Spielman at GM, would he have taken the job? We'll be discussing these past few weeks for years. So much to speculate on, and the way the paths diverge will be quite interesting to look back and see who made the right choices.
