Quote:Joeckel played well.

Cann struggled on the shotgun sweep that we ran 15 times.

Yeah early in the game, they ran to left a few times for good yardage, but then totally went away from it.

Joekel was solid all game really.

He was on his heels a few times in pass pro but was just able to hold up, a better opponent(NT/DT) would have been a disaster.

He looked good in the run game though.

Quote:Lets double down on it next week until we get it right. Who needs wins, I want to establish the run because I was taught that in coaching school.

Ah, the old JDR-in-a-bad-losing-season strategy.

Season not going your way? Losing the current game by a decent margin? Upset your run-first team can't run at all? Call 3 straight runs from the 3 TE set. Establish that run. Show your dominance.

Almost as successful as throwing an incomplete pass on 1st down from your own goal line, and then deciding to try to give yourself some breathing room with a QB sneak on 2nd down.

Luke played alright. The line as a whole gave up way too much penetration in the run game. They got too cute with it and weren't fast enough to get to Matthews et al before they were disrupting the runs in the backfield. When the Packers weren't getting penetration, Yeldon was able to produce a few nice runs.
