But I’m sure you’ll have some way to twist that around. Perhaps it was because he was a rookie and in a bad situation, but he was still bad. Takeaway the horrible coaching and talent around him and he still made unbelievably bad decisions and horrible unexcuseable inaccurate passes. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was the situation for now, as he's currently showing that he CAN be that guy. But when i'm told that he was bad simply because of his situation when I watch him make the same mistakes he did in college in a damn near perfect situation, it's hard for me to say that it's 100% on the situation he's in, and not partly on him. And when I said I have no faith I was discussing this current season, and pointing out that I hadn't seen enough personally from him in his rookie year to expect much this year coupled with the fact that our team was void of talent. This ofcourse was posted prior to free agency/Doug Pedersons hiring/Draft Etc etc. I don't think I was the only person who didn't think this season was going to be what it is now, hell I don't think anyone expected us to be where we are now a month ago. But, he has absolutely grown into a guy over the past couple of months and has certainly exceeded any expectations (remember, in the crow thread I predicted 22 TDs 15 ints, which by all accounts is pretty close considering he has 15 turnovers this season and 24 TDs) so it's not like I didn't expect some growth from him, but I wasn't expecting him to start checking all the boxes, game winning drives, being down big and making a comeback etc etc. He's been good. If the Texans come out with the same strategy I would like to see if he's developed the touch to drop the passes in for the catch. He's gotten much better with this, he struggled mightily his first year with poor accuracy specificly high balls. And has had his issues this year aswell with the same thing but he has absolutely toned it down to a point where we can be a bit more comfortable with it when it does happen because it's not happening every drive anymore. |
