Trevor Lawrence: Franchise QB (TL Discussion, Merged Threads)
|
Christian McCaffery could only get 8 reps @ 225lbs on the bench at the combine, I was benching more than that before my daughter was born, but he’s clearly a stronger guy than me. Just like the Hurts can squat 600lbs stuff. Doesn’t always mean something on the field.
I would venture to say a NFL strength program is pretty far advanced over a simple 5x5 program. I’m sure progressive overload is a key component of their program though. For Trevor, I’m not sure adding a lot of muscle to his legs would be a good idea. He was able to avoid injuries BECAUSE he’s leaner and flexible. I’m sure some would be good, but there’s a fine line we don’t want him to cross. If he had tree trunk legs he likely would have torn something being twisted like he did Monday
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
