Run the ball and control the clock, keep the ball out of Rodgers hands as much as possible. We will probably have to score 40 to have a shot in this one

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

so basically everything that gus bradley isn't cut out for

Realistically speaking with no real promise (so far) in pass rush.  This is a very difficult schedule.  We could potentially be playing at least half our schedule with playoff bound teams.

LOL That's an interesting one.

Nobody said that.

I'm picking Packers to lose the first two weeks.

I assume i'll be right once

Quote:Two early thoughts about the game that come to mind is this would be an ideal time to try to take advantage of the size and running skills of Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon. Nothing can prepare the Packers for the heat and humidity they likely will experience in Jacksonville a week from today. The longer the Jaguars Offense is on the field,  the more gassed the Packers are going to be. Sustaining drives would be huge.

Also, it's imperative to keep Aaron Rodgers in the pocket.  He's often deadly when he breaks contain. A concern is the inexperience of some of the Jaguars DEs. The coaches need to pound it into their heads that they must stay discipline against Rodgers.

The temperature difference is a good point. The Packers thrive in cold weather (as you certainly have seen them do against your Lions). Also, the Jaguars wear their white jerseys and pants in September for the reason you mentioned. They like to make the opponents hotter than them.

One thing that makes Aaron Rodgers the NFL's best QB not named Tom Brady is his ability to escape pressure and keep plays alive. Blake Bortles does this too, but no QB is better at it than Rodgers. It is a very tough first test for Jacksonville's rebuilt defensive line. I am hoping Malik Jackson can offer some tips and tricks from last year, when he played against the Packers in a Broncos uniform.

We can't do both. To score 40 points we have to pass all day. Fortunately we don't need to score 40 points to win if 24 and 33 get the ball early and often.

Whataburger?  Our scoreboards? Our amphitheater coming?  Our lower price tickets?  The scorching heat?

I don't know about scorching heat, but it will be hot - especially for the Packers.

Defense has to gel. With Nelson rusty, the heat and an offense that can score, this is the time the Jags can and should win.

Fast forward a few weeks and we wouldn't be thinking this. GB is pretty elite. But week 1 is winnable. The hotter the better...that is our ace.

You are crazy if you think just because Green Bay does not get up to 90 degrees in September we are going to win. Jordy Nelson is not rusty. If Aaron Rodgers and Nelson are on the field, the Packers can win anywhere.

1-convert 70+% on 3rd down

2-get gb in tons of third n longs

3-avg 4 yp carry

4-win t.o.p

5-sack rodgers

#53

Putting Green Bay in third and long situations is not good enough. We have to stop them on third and long without committing penalties. That was a big problem we had last season.

YPC is not the important statistic. What matters is total yards, like the 375 we love to brag about.

They have the best QB in the game, a RB who looks really good right now, and a damn good trio of pass rushers. We are going to have to run the ball down their throats all day if we have intentions to win. I don't see it. Rogers is going to light our D up.

Do we really need a "5 things to beat X team" every week? Each week it's the same $%@#ing thing.

•Run

•Stop the run

•do not turn the ball over

•pressure the QB

•play good special teams

^thats how you win any football game, football is not rocket science.

#56

1. Eat a well-balanced breakfast.

2. Show up to the game on time.

3. Make plays early and often.

4. Don't beat yourself with stupid penalties and turnovers.

5. Fans make the environment as hostile as possible.

No pain, no gain.

It is not the same every week. Some teams are much better at passing than running. There will be injuries as the season goes on, making some dual-threat teams one dimensional. "Good special teams" doesn't mean the same thing against every opponent. The one key that is true for all 16 games obviously is avoiding turnovers.

1 - Don't get too hyped.  It's football.

2 - Do your job - you have good players around you.  Block, tackle, throw, catch.  Jump on the loose football.

3 - Don't be afraid of success.  This team can roll over people if they get going.

4 - Bortles to A-Rob!

Pretty much.

Actually what really matters is scoring more points than the Packers.
