Let's Cut Some Spending.........

#1

These figures may not seem all that much in the grand scheme of things, however, put enough of these wasteful spending items together and add them up....... Well....... WHo knows what thw total will be........

$75,000 to blast lizards with leaf blowers

Remember the absolutely critical Omnibus spending bill Congress muscled through at the end of last year? It was 4,000 pages that no one read that cost taxpayers $1.7 trillion.

Harvard biologists turned a leaf blower, a wooden pole, and a lounge of Caribbean lizards into a $75,000 payday

The Federal Highway Administration spent $200,000 across 11 states to make radio advertisements to try and reduce the number of vehicle-train collisions in each state.

Instead of a sign that says "Do Not Disturb" I need one that says "Already Disturbed Proceed With Caution."

As most of these PSA types of things air late in the evening or in the early morning hours, the government probably got some bang for their buck regarding cost of airtime. However, does a PSA make a sound if there are no ears to hear it?

The $200,000 for public service announcements constitutes one second of federal spending, so we're going to have to come up with a lot more cuts than that.

6 trillion dollars of federal spending divided by 365 days, divided by 24 hours, divided by 60 minutes, divided by 60 seconds, equals $190,259.

We could save all of it by dissolving the federal government.

I agree with that.  Handing out money like that was not a good idea.
