The Jags lost the trenches on both sides of the ball. Very Alarming!

Any coach worth his salt will tell you that it always starts up front.  The QB and the Receivers get the glory but the real stars of the show are the big blobs on both sides of the ball.

2 priorities that will make a team win almost every game:

1. Protect the QB:  You give your QB time in the pocket and good things happen.  Explosive plays down field can't happen if the QB does not have the time

2. Effect the Opposing QB: Hit him, sack him, hurry him, all those can and often do lead to disaster.

This team got spanked on both sides of the ball. Lawrence was getting pressured most of the game. Rarely did he have a clean pocket or enough time to make a long play down field.  The defensive pass rush was non existent. The Jags allowed that Rookie QB to get way to comfortable in the pocket. The Texans had all day to pass the ball while the Jaguars had very little. The real alarming part is the Texans were missing some key starters on both sides of the ball.

Yes Ridley deserves dome blame for his horrible drops, Lawrence on his tunnel vision, and others for stupid penalties. The Real reason we look so bad is these big guys up front are failing this team.

Easy Equation

0 pass rush + 0 pass protection= getting spanked

Neither QB was sacked. The Texans were better up front throughout the game, but not by much.
The difference was turnovers and special teams. And the timing of drops and penalties.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

Raw numbers do not tell the whole story.  I watched the entire game.  If you have eyes you can't deny how much more Trevor was pressured all day. He had free runners up in his face and often faced less than 3 seconds in the pocket.

The time to throw and hurry stats aren't there yet, but, Stroud was also under duress. I did watch the whole game. I'm a human who worries about Trevor getting injured, but who feels no emotion about Stroud getting injured. So my eyes may deceive me, and your eyes may deceive you.
