CUT JAMES SAMPLE

#81

Great -- now I have the Bloods after me to (for creating this thread).

I already have MS-13 knocking on my door for marrying a hispanic chick.

.... at least the Crips aren't coming after me .... yet.

Quote:Just a cursory look at this allegation that James Sample is showing an affiliation with the bloods-

(1) James Sample's high school is in a mostly hispanic neighborhood, not black.  Bloods are almost always black people and they almost never exist outside majority black neighborhoods.

(2) Bloods do indeed use the number 5, and a 5 point star, but so do a lot of other people - Including our government!  Our flag has 50 five pointed stars.  Our defense department has a Pentagon as its headquarters.

(3) Bloods do sometimes brand their members with 3 to 5 marks called a "dog paw" on one upper arm, but, after looking at a lot of photos of James Sample... I see no brands at all, just tattoos.

I, personally, would need a lot more evidence to entertain such a serious allegation.

While I'm not sure what the number 23 has to do with "community," it could be the street he grew up on.  There is a 23rd street in Sacramento, but it's zoned to the neighboring high school, not the one he went to.  The high school he went to is mostly hispanic and the 23rd street area is mostly white.

The most likely conclusion is that he did grow up on the 23rd street and perhaps the school zone boundaries changed recently, or he got a transfer as an athlete, or he moved shortly before high school.  While I have no evidence other than a map of the city and the name of his high school, I still have more evidence for that than the guy saying Sample runs with the bloods.

Sample went to Louisville -- notice he chose a school decked out in red unis?  coincidence?  I think not.

.

That's not truly accurate.   Using LA County as an example, people tend to think of the crips of LA as 1 gang, when in reality there are over 75 different versions of the Crips that are independently associated by their neighborhood.  https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid...o&hl=en_US

Shifting gears to Sacramento, being a Crip could be as simple as hanging out with 9 dudes from your street and naming your gang the 18th Street Crips.  These days a lot of people just like being affiliated with a gang simple to act cool (without engaging in any real gang activity other than picking up chicks and intimidating others).  That said, I'm certain there are a lot of athletes that have once been associated with a gang in their earlier days.

I Google'd his picture and saw the tattoos. I have personal experience with gangs. I'm not, however, all-knowing and never claimed as much.

1. No. Whites, blacks, and hispanics all have gangs using red. Gangs exist everywhere, too. I'm not sure where you got that information. You can pick the whitest town in the US, and you're going to find a crip/blood somewhere in there. I don't know how his school's demographics play out, but the city is 18% black and 26% hispanic. I'm not sure if you understand, but gangs don't always stay exclusive to race. You'll very often see them associating with other races and gangs.

There's a specific Del Paso Heights sect of bloods, btw.

2.  This point is absurd.

3. This may be true. It seemed pretty obvious when I saw it, but I can't find the same picture, so you may be correct.

Those two masks on his right bicep, however, are typically used to signify a "laugh now, cry later" mindset very often used in gang culture. I'm surprised I didn't notice this earlier since they're so common. There were also two additional 5-point stars on his left arm next to "Sacramento". There's also a word written in Chicano-styled font that I can't read. I don't know if he's replaced words in the 13/13 code that bloods use or what, but I can't understand it. He also had a red 5-point star, in addition to those previously mentioned, on one of his forearms.

But, yeah, it's probably nothing.

Either way, my post was divisive I suppose, so there's not point discussing it anymore. It just seems you'll just choose to believe what you want to believe.

They both want the number for legit reason's, it currently belongs to Sample... and although nationally it would be cool for Ramsey to wear the 23 for publicity of the brand and his name/team... If Sample doesn't want to let it go that's OK with me

Also, without looking myself, is 45 taken... I'm from Chicago and Jordan wore 45 for half a season when he came back from retirement lol.

Perhaps they are waiting until after the Memorial Day cookout to release him. I heard he is bringing the bubba burgers.

That's funny!

Quote:I don't know how a number honors community outside of gang affiliations. Bloods, in particular, use 23 with meaning. Sample also has a 5-point star on his right arm, and it looks like he has 3 or 5 branded lines across his left bicep. That's just from what I can see in the few minutes of searching on Google. His lame answer of "community" just seems like an effort to rep his affiliation without coming out and saying it.

Quote:Bjoern Werner wears 45 at the moment and I doubt he give it up because the number means a lot to him. That was the year Germany surrendered in WW2 and it reminds him to never stop fighting.

Didn't Ramsey wear #8 in college? So what's the big deal about 23?

If I were him I'd want 42 because it's the answer.

He won't answer me. His judgement and his ability to google things are supposed to make us all see Samples gang affiliations.
