Jordan wore 45 for a time. Ramsey should just wear 45 if he wants to rep Jordan on the field.

Pretty sure a DB can't wear 40s numbers.

And Sample wants to make sure he's repping that 23 on the bench to his grave.

Gerald Senasabugh used to don 43 as a FS.

I think it's good that Sample stood up for himself and didnt sell out.

Ramsey will probably find one of 20, 25 or 27 are free after cuts are made.

Quote:Nope. I think he should sell it to Ramsey for as much as he can get from him, take that money and build a rec center in his neighborhood if he wants to honor the community. Buy some uniforms for youth teams in his city. Help some families in need.

Or just keep 23 and honor them that way, makes way more sense.

I don't know how a number honors community outside of gang affiliations. Bloods, in particular, use 23 with meaning. Sample also has a 5-point star on his right arm, and it looks like he has 3 or 5 branded lines across his left bicep. That's just from what I can see in the few minutes of searching on Google. His lame answer of "community" just seems like an effort to rep his affiliation without coming out and saying it.

Bjoern Werner wears 45 at the moment and I doubt he give it up because the number means a lot to him. That was the year Germany surrendered in WW2 and it reminds him to never stop fighting.

Quote:So status wise I suppose a 3rd year UDFA who has been cut twice and bounces back and forth between practice squad and active roster trumps that of a top five pick rookie?

Makes sense.
I can't believe the stupidity here. The number reminds Sample of where he came from and how he got here. Ramsey wants it because Jordan wore it. Who has better reasons? It's not about who got picked ahead or how many times a player got cut.

Nick Marshall is 41.

I never understood why so many football players have to have "their number"

It's just a number who cares

For some reason I thought DBs were restricted to 20-39 barring there being none available. I didn't realize it was just 20-49 for all DBs.
