Blake Bortles straight up for Von Miller? Would you do it?

Quote:I mean that's not really the point.

It's a hypothetical. And Hypothetically, if we could get 8 HOF players and a HOF coach for Bortles, I would do it.

I would not. Cause will never consider bill a hof coach. Three instances of cheating.

Only scenario I trade Bortles is for another franchise QB + 1, such as Russell Wilson + Earl Thomas

So is Gabbert, for opposite reasons.

In addition to everything that has already been posted .....

Bortles - Age 23 --- most really good QBs are over age 30

Von Miller - Age 27 - most really good DEs are under age 30

Miller has 3-5 elite years left in him MAX.

Bortles is a superstar???  I think you need to go into the concussion protocol.

You could keep Belicheck for another 1st in my book. Any coach with that roster would end up being an all time great anyway.

Von Miller is something special.  There are plenty of examples of elite Defensive linemen playing well into their late 30's.

While Bortles has the potential to be the best QB this franchise has ever had, Von Miller is a once in a generation player.

This is what many don't seem to understand.  Miller is a proven talent.  Bortles is good, but he'll never be special until and unless his mental game improves significantly.

In short. HECK NO.

It's a golden rule. You never trade away a franchise quality QB. Ever. Are you a madman?!?!?!?

And that's how you become the Texans.

And they've won more games in the past 7 years than we have.......

I wouldn't trade Blake at all for Von Miller but to basically say he is untradeable is kind of ridiculous.

Who cares.  Even a good quarterback is going to have more of an effect on a team than one defensive player.

To get a feasible trade offer for Blake Bortles does pretty much render him untradeable, right now anyway. So much that I doubt any teams would even bother inquiring.

In a heartbeat. I miss watching Henne try to [BLEEP] a football.
Only a chump boos the home team!

I mean I get what you're saying. We would ask for a hefty amount (which is understandable) and no one is going to give us that.

But we DID get a 6th round pick for him.

Not sayin'....just sayin'.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

1) That's debatable.

2) It's a lot easier to replace a good, but not great, QB, than it is to replace the best defensive player in the game.

Sneakers, really? I mean REALLY?

Von Miller is not LT and you don't trade 35 TDs even for LT in his prime.

Sure they have. But they're going to be stuck in mediocre purgatory while they have a "once in a generation" talent in Watt but no QB.

But you're right. No player is untradeable for the right offer. It's just a matter of how unrealistic is it to get an offer like that.

Let me put it this way; how is Houston doing with their elite superstar DE (JJ Watt) and no QB?

Pound for pound, a good QB gets your team farther than any single good defensive player. Period.

Yes, I know the Broncos just won, but Manning while he may not be what he once was, is still Peyton Manning. Miller did not carry that team - they had a LOADED defensive 11.

So, if you would trade a franchise QB for ANY defensive player of any caliber...enjoy spending the next 3-6 years hoping you find a QB before your shiny new DE leaves his prime.
