I wouldn't be shocked if that's the reason he got into camp

Quote:Well, kudos for the creativity of the deal probably goes to Idzik...but either way it's perfect.
Idzik, Caldwell, doesn't matter. That's a great deal and I know you were bashing them for the deal before knowing the details.

I feel like you were taking an backhanded shot at Caldwell there?

Little info on this Innis kid.

Sounds like he could be a really nice signing. Looks like a freak show.

Great routes. Those numbers he's running put him in an elite class athletically too.

What? I never bashed anything. I just said there was no reward in one year deals like Amukamara's and only low reward in other short term deals (yes, low risk also to be fair). I said with our cap room giving him a long term reasonable AAV deal, like say 5 years 40 mil, would give us medium risk and very high reward...a good calculated measure given our cap situation.

Turns out if the option is picked up it's exactly 5 for 40 haha. I couldn't have dreamed that there would be essentially an opt out after 1 year, as a deal structured like this has never happened before that we can recall. Somehow we got the absolute best of both worlds.

My bad then. Sounded like you were trying to bash certain people in the front office.

Quote: Being that the Seahawks use a similar type of Defense as the Jaguars, I'm wondering what position they envision Mike Neal playing for the most part? Do they see him as a LEO, as an OTTO, or a combination of both?

The Lions currently don't have any meaningful depth at DE. At the very least, Mike Neal is extremely likely being viewed as a DE in some expected passing situations.
Id say DE in both, maybe a little more otto in seattle just with the loss of irvin.

The other question that jumps out is what kind of contract Mike Neal likely will receive?   He's coming off a 2 year/ $ 8 million.  My gut feeling is he probably won't get a contract as good as that one.

No news on Wiz at all? Doesn't sound like he went for a visit anywhere.

Gus seemed fairly sure about Linder at center today.

Jaguars.com posted an article today and Dave said he is still open to Wiz and Harbor returning next year.

I bet he'll do well, he runs hard for a smaller back.

What would you think about Greg Hardy coming to the Jaguars in FA to compete with Fowler Jr for LEO starting role this year?

Naw. Locker room cancer and head case. Didnt he fight some team mates and go off on the coaches on the side line during the game? Not to mention his weird dismissal of his domestic abuse charges.

Thats gonna be a no for me dog.
