Quote:Maybe your point is just absurd? An NFL player, told by the docs and coach that he is cleared to play, who refuses to play? Have you ever heard of such a thing? In that toughman, warrior culture where weakness is derided, mocked, and eliminated without mercy?
Absurd? How? To think the player themselves doesn't have final say on what to do with their body is stupid. The doctors can give clearance all they want but unless that player willing feels good enough to play they don't have to do it. It's called free will. Read a book.

"Hey Tony, the docs say you're good to go. You ready?"

"Naw coach, I think I'mma sit this one out,"

".............."

Yeah, that's totally plausible.  Rolleyes

Often it is up to the player whether he feels  during warm ups there will  be no problems doing anything in the playbook. However, the player does not always get to hear the answer he wants. Sometimes. he just avoid physicals to make himself play too soon.

Good ol' Jerry. Not above signing a woman beater and rushing his QB back from injury to win a couple games. Yeehaw!

ABOUT US
The Jungle Forums is the Jaguars' biggest fan message board. Talking about the Jags since 2006, the Jungle was the team-endorsed home of all things Jaguars.

Since 2017, the Jungle is now independent of the team but still run by the same crew. We are here to support and discuss all things Jaguars and all things Duval!
