House, Davon

That's what solid corners do. He's a solid corner. Is he a shut down corner? No, but he's definitely solid enough to start. Gratz, on the other hand...

So after this season I give him a solid B grade. For a first time starter he is only going to get better.

Yeah, he's on the list of guys we don't need an immediate upgrade for.

Hopkins got him a few times on 50 50 balls the first time. I think house got the better of him this time. There was one deep fade route in particular where he was straight in his grill. I really like this guy.

He broke the Jags single season pass deflection record as a first time starter too.

House was great and did those things without a pass rush

3 ints broke the team record for pass deflections and was like 3rd in the NFL

Make that 4 INTs, and yeah a new team PD record with 27 (indeed it is 3rd in the NFL), plus he had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

House was a solid UFA pickup and is our best CB.  Worth every penny.

He had 5 takeaways alone this year. What was the teams total takeaway number?

The Jaguars had 9 INTs and 9 fumble recoveries. House alone had nearly half of the team's INT, although only 3 teams had less than 9. The Panthers were the best with 24 INTs. On fumble recoveries, the Jaguars fared a bit better as 9 FRs is tied for 15th in the middle of the pack. Again the Panthers were at the top tied with the Redskins with 15 fumble recoveries.

Quote:Great job out there, brother. Keep trying.
He needs help at FS, and opposite corner with a real pass rush from the line but he was the best DB on the team this year (as he should be with his salary).

Aaron Colvin is improving slightly best as a nickel corner though.

Most Sacks by a CB:

Former record-holders: Drew Coleman (NYJ), 4 (2010), and Captain Munnerlyn (CAR), 4 (2013)

Currently tied: Aaron Colvin (JAX), 4 (2015)

With Colvin's sheer speed and how quickly he's progressing, I see him possibly standing out in 2016 and surpassing House as the team's best CB. I'm excited to see how much better these two can we should the Jaguars field a legimate pass rush while adding talent to all the other spots in the secondary. I'd be even more excited if a passing defense guru like Raheem Morris were to become the new DC.
