Quote from Shad Khan on Dave and Gus

#21

Quote:Honestly from an owner stand point, that's the right thing to say. Obviously he'll address things if we can't turn it around by season end, but do you really want him bashing Gus to the media? The owner/GM/HC trio is probably the most important thing to be in sync to build a franchise. I'd rather a patient owner than one who wants to blow it up every year. Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's working this go around.

We have one of the easier schedules to end the season, let's see how things play out first.

Correct above.  Whether you agree with him keeping Gus is one thing.  But if his choice is to let things play out this year then he handled it the only way you should

Quote:Nobody said tank. Id fire Gus during the bye week, let Marrone take over, see what he can do the rest of the way. He cant do any worse. And if we still suck, we bring in a guy like Sean Peyton or Josh McDaniels.

Either way, if you think we should fire Gus and Marrone isn't your top choice then you shouldn't care what he does the rest of the way.  I think the point is, we are arguing over two things that don't matter.  Fire Gus now or wait till the end of the season.  Either way, if Gus is gone now or end of year, we will get a new head coach.

If Gus doesn't win this week he will (and should) be fired. Give a member of the current staff a chance and if they don't get it done move on in the offseason.

Quote:I've already agreed on a new HC if this garbage continues, so Marrone it is. What would you expect as your 'Keep Marrone' final record over the last 9 games? Same starters? Same Defense? What should he, or any coach, do to make the players tackle and 'ya know' actually listen to the coaches and get aggressive?

Id say 6-3, maybe 5-4. Sometimes a different voice is all you need. He would need to bench some players like Beadles and Cyprien. Have a more aggressive and attacking defense.

SPECIALTIES:

The Oline is Marrone

Wrs are Sullivan

Babich is Defense

Greg O is Offense

COMPLAINTS VIA "THE JUNGLE"

Oline sucks except Parnell n Linder,  good Wrs are ok at best outside of AR and Hurns, Defense (enough said), Offense can't finish or score enough.

BUT......Let's give Marrone a shot. Lol.

Honest question. When was the last time an interim coach amounted to anything with the same team?

He doesn't care. He is the owner and he is juicing up the stadium b/c he knows people will come to hangout at the newest hot spot and other businesses will continue to be part of this aswell. If fans leave early, they still paid for tickets stayed for more than half the game and probably bought a good amount of nick nacks. All in all he is bring in money and he will give Gus more time so they can learn from each other.

Okay, well I personally would want to go in a different direction and if you think Marrone is or could be the guy then that is fine.

Good response but I'd rather wait till years end.  Only keep Greg O, Sullivan, Marrone, and Caldwell.  Look for everyone else's replacement.

Jason Garrett, Dan Campbell is off to a good start this year. Miami looked like a totally different team on Sunday.

Media fluff. Move on. All of you who are taking this to heart need to watch the news and owners more often. Shad WOULD BE UNPROFESSIONAL if he told the media that Gus is on the hot seat. It would HURT our chances at better coaches because they'll see an owner who will sell them out mid-season to the media.

Please, If any of you have brains, Let that sink in. Bradley will get fired if he doesn't pick it up. Firing a coach mid-season doesn't turn any team around or send them destined for playoffs. Its never worked. And I don't want to hear "Lets see what we have in marone". He isn't a good head coach either. "But what about Cambell and miami?" Please. They still won't be anywhere near the playoffs. One game doesn't turn around a team.

Can't wait to see whats next.

Ok, He is a man that knows what he wants and maybe we should all relax and give them time. A guy said as a true fan expect to lose. I didn't believe it but I do now.

I'm just worried Gussy will string together a few moral victories at the end and Khan will just say [BAD WORD REMOVED] it.

Look.. I get it. but you're already losing people at the stadium. The past Sunday was the lowest since the blackout days. ITS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. I'm not saying firing Gus is the right or wrong thing to do, but clearly what he is doing isn't working. If he was fired, it would inject some much needed energy into this fanbase for at least the rest of the season. It shows that you actually care, because at this point, your only concerned, in my opinion, is about 'expanding' the brand and making money regardless of the crap product your expanding. I get it, he is a very smart man and a very rich man for a reason, but he didn't make millions off of selling crappy car parts...
