never looked forward to a game like this in awhile

If we beat the Patriots the city of Jacksonville should erupt in excitement for our team and us fans should start thinking playoffs. This is the best opportunity as you are likely going to get to show you belong with the big boys this season, certainly this is a game to see how you measure up to the class of the NFL. I haven't itched to see our Jags play in a long time. Just remember, if we lose by 20+ this is somewhat the expectation, and to keep it in perspective. The Patriots are on a mission this year.

If we beat the Pats, that would mean we could just about beat anyone in this league (potentially). I really don't think we will just because of how elite they are and the fact that we are a recently rebuilt, young, inexperienced team with quite a few injured starters. If we did win, it would be huge for this franchise. The players would have so much more confidence the rest of the season and would honestly be the turning point for the Jags from a bottom feeder to a contender. All that aside, I just hope that we field a competitive, respectable team. Would like to see our key guys make plays and see Bortles with some more consistent play.

I have an idea.

Every team always tries to get pressure on Brady thinking if he gets hit / hurt the game goes their way, and it almost never works as he gets rid of the ball in less than 2 secs on most plays.

Why not instead have the guys that would normally blitz fall back into zone coverage or double team guys?  Only have two or three on the line to stop the run like Roy Miller, Tyson Alualu & Odrick but if Clemons is in have him fall back in coverage on most plays?

We tried that one time in the Del Rio era.   We rushed 3 guys and dropped 8 into coverage, and the ball never hit the ground.  Brady was 26 out of 28 against us that day.

So... no.

Hitting and disrupting Brady is the blueprint. Of Odrick and Skuta can keep playing well we should get some pressure.

We always seem to play pretty well in these types of games. We were in it till late against Peyton in their almost undefeated season. And that was with Henne
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

So if we lose next week, we can expect Jaguarmvp and a few others to be back posting. Funny how they disappear after a win, but blow the board up when the Jags lose. Signs of people who are not true fans.

I'm fully prepared to lose my voice during the game. Whether it's for good or bad reasons, we'll see.

Brady has the ability to carve up the young secondary...and probably will.  It would take a miracle for the Jags to attain a W.

So... no.

I remember that game well.  And it was frustrating to watch...

But I wouldn't poo poo the idea of just rushing 4 and playing man to man, with double teams on Gronk.  I honestly think, with Poz and Telvin, we could reduce those short yardage gains to 3-5 yards and stall out thier drives.

Getting the ball out in 2 seconds...  Pressure will never get there in time.  He'll just nickel and dime us down the field if we blitz.  Best to cover well and hope our front 4 can get a push up the middle...

That's how I'd do it.   Yes, blitzing is important as well, I'm not saying abandon the blitz.  I just think we should press the WRs, double up Gronk, and spy the RBs...  Brady is a Checkdown master, but it's still just checkdowns, we really should be keying on that.

a tad.

But I think most of us realize this game is a pretty tall task.  I don't know, it's possible...  But man, it would have to be a mix of them playing poorly and us playing out of our minds...  It could happen...  But I don't know....

Quote:If blake plays like he has last two games, and the drops dissappear, we can do it. Sustain 8-10 min drives keep him off the field.

It's how you beat manning and brady. And lots of pressure

While I believe that multiple 8 - 10 minute drives are helpful in winning games, that's quite a tall task for any offense to maintain. Eight minute drives?!?! Is that even reasonable?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
