August 31

The Tennessee Titans continue to whittle their roster down, releasing defensive lineman Toby Johnson.

Johnson, trying to make the team as an undrafted free agent, missed practice late last week due to a shoulder injury and did not play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.

The Titans still have four more roster moves to make before reaching the NFL-mandated cut to 75 players by Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Tennessee let go of 10 players on Sunday.

Johnson was released before Monday's practice.

Toby played in the first two preseason games racking up a total of 7 tackles. He had 0 sacks. The Chiefs game was their 3rd preseason game as he was waived during their first round of cuts.

Quote:Surprised with the lack of a QB on there.
I think they just assume Morris would be there as did I but the Eagles took him?

This is Tony Washingtons last year (eligible) for Practice Squad (is that right)?

Peyton Thompson and Tony Washington ended the season on the squad. Unless either was on for less than six weeks, this would likely be their final season eligible for the Jaguars squad. Just keep in mind there is that possible third year exception requiring the team to always field 53 active players.
