I feel it's a fantastic use of technology, and does not compromise the information it gathers by the way it's implemented.  How VA State Troopers implement the technology doesn't at all resemble the scenario the writer suggests at the end of your article.

I'm not one of the "big brother" kind of people, and I do understand how this technology can be useful to law enforcement.  However, I do believe that this kind of technology is also ripe for exploit.
