I am not sure if Eric has enough room for all of us but I already RSVP'd so you might want to get on it.

Yeah, I asked Eric for a spot a while back, too. I think he's gonna need a bigger bunker.

Quote:I can't believe that I'm about to defend Drifter (somebody stick a needle in my arm and make sure I still bleed), but there are lots of people, especially here in Colorado, that are extremely unhappy that Holmes wasn't sentenced to death. This includes lots of people that identify as anti-death penalty otherwise. You really had to be here and see the immediate aftermath, and knowing someone who was in the theater really puts it in perspective as well. Holmes is, as far as I'm concerned, not a human being. He deserves no sympathy, no mercy and no rights. Our justice system worked exactly as it was supposed to here, but to demonize and mock Drifter on this one is demonizing and mocking the families of some of the victims, who were also very upset (to say the least) that a single holdout juror, citing their personal ideology, was all that kept Holmes from dying.

I know you have all the tact of a rabid pitbull, but surely even you're better than saying that families of the Aurora victims are better suited for anti-American laws because they're upset that Holmes was allowed to live.

Drifter lives in Colorado? Sorry, he can't use that as an excuse. Perhaps he's too busy searching fake web sites.

My point is - it's always entertaining seeing someone, especially in a holier than thou way, bemoan the actions of a killer by wanting to kill someone. And in such a casual way. You know, being the tough guy on a message board - something Drifter specializes in.

"Holmes is, as far as I'm concerned, not a human being." Wow. That's just how the Nazi thought about the Jews. I guess it's makes it so much easier to kill someone if you don't think of them as human. And yet you and Drifter are somehow honoring those that died, and their families? Doesn't sound like it.

Finally - I have the tact of a rabid pitbull? Have you read Drifter's posts? And aren't you the one who used the term used bicycle?  Heal thyself.

The one lone juror did not overrule and facts of the case, nor did he/she manipulate anything.  He/she simply performed their civic duty and made a decision based on their values and the evidence.

I'm blushing, Who said bipartisanship is dead?

Once I get my bunker installed, the first invitation goes to you.

Drifter does not live in Colorado. I do, and I know someone who was in the theater. Forgive me if I have a somewhat unique perspective on the situation, and a somewhat different understanding of the emotions and thought processes in play.

Comparing me to a Nazi is absolutely idiotic, and it says a lot about you that you'd go there. Last time I checked, none of the Jews murdered by Hitler had walked into a crowded room, thrown tear gas around to incite a panic, then opened fire. If any of them had, they'd be inhuman as well. Comparing Holmes to the Jews of WWII is just so far beyond the realm of taste, so far beyond the realm of reality, [BLEEP], so far beyond the realm of being a human freaking being that I'm honestly not even sure how to respond. You do realize that you've just equated a mass murderer to a group of people who were mindlessly tortured, experimented on and ultimately slaughtered by the millions, right? If you understand that and are still wanting to stand behind your comment, then I take the pitbull remark back. It would be an insult to rabid pitbulls. I mean, how does one who makes that comparison with a straight face--with any face at all--have any standing to participate in rational discussion with other human beings?

I think people are confusing Drifter for someone else, since Drifter just said "That's how the system works"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

So now you are competing with Eric? Let's see who's got the better deal.

I would work on a socialist bunker in case Trump or Scott Walker got elected, but if they got elected I'd probably just leave the country.

Yeah, that's how the system works. Would I have liked to see him strapped to a gurney with a needle in his arm? Yeppers but I wasn't on the jury.

I remember when I lived in Jax and they fried Ted Bundy, Everyone I knew of (at the suggestion of a local radio station) Turned off all unnecessary electric stuff so the state would have more power to do the job. I believe this was 1989 when they fried him.

Instead of a sign that says "Do Not Disturb" I need one that says "Already Disturbed Proceed With Caution."
