I don't quite understand the talk after the game. If you say, "They just aren't that good", but you lose 3-1, what does that make you exactly?

Even the US women post game said they played poorly, and had extreme nerves pre-game like they hadn't had in a long time. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-fc-...22277.html

Reminds me of when Jason Hill said Darrelle Revis was "overrated".

You lost...get over it.
Oh no! They got served! And dissed! Whatever will happen if their emotional stability is not up to handling someone saying mean things about them?!

That wasn't the point whatsoever.
"Clearly, even though they lost they're the better team.  And it just goes to show that we're a world class team.  I mean they had a great goal keeper, you can't expect us to score on that.  But Australia is still a world class team because we outplayed a team that wasn't very good, and lost.  Can't wait until we play a really good team and show them what for.  Mate."

I feel like it is. There will always be sour grapes and sore losers. And there will always be people who bring up legitimate points about why their team lost and have legitimate points about plays that they "left on the field."

But as of now, the score of the Australia game is history and nothing can be done about that, despite what people outside of the team say. The focal point now is for both teams to move on to the next challenge in front of them. Australia seems, at first glance, to not be doing such a good job of that so that means that the US team is going to have to block out all of the verbiage and other things thrown at them so that they can focus on the task at hand.

After all, talk is just talk. We're in the business of doing.
That's it --- I'm boycotting OUTBACK !!!

I feel I should point out that the "Aussie Women" didn't say anything. It was an Australian website doing a "4 things we learned" section on the game.

So at second glance it seems as if the "dissing" is even less important. Way to go internet!

Does anyone have the article or the quotes?

Edit:  Apparently it was their official website.  http://gobuzzup.com/world/australia-wome...-u-s-team/

Still funny that a team website would say that. Australia was handled in the second half pretty well.  The keep away the US women played was pretty funny to watch. I could imagine how frustrated the Aussies got.

It was a statement from the Football Federation of Australia, which was included in the article linked, yes.

And you still don't get it. Nothing to do with "dissing"

I'd also say the official site of anything is a pretty good way to link someone/a team.

Then I really don't. If it has nothing to do with dissing, then why did you include that term in the title of the thread?

Did you read the first post ?

I don't get why, after you lose 3-1, you would say the other team isn't very good. That makes no sense to me. If that is the case, what's that make your team, terrible? I don't get the logic.

Ah! Yes I did read the first post and I felt like I responded to the same vein that it was in. Apologies if I was misunderstood.

Update on the NED-CHI game; Netherlands quite bad, still better defenders than the men's team.
