Quote:um......

I was referring to wingerdingers post which referenced several things. It was in no way to mean country music promotes things in the same way, but if you read the lyrics of country music lots about getting hammered, sleeping around, doing drugs, have many wives and ex wives, representing where they are from, etc... there are a lot of similarities, just packaged in a different way. It isn't apples to apples, but it is amazing how perception for the twould genres of music are so different when they have a lot in common.
Then there's country rap. That's the devil right der now.

Dog died while selling crack and sleeping with best friends girlfriend then getting arrested and beat by cops.

Lol
Country music is a bad example, mainly cuz it's really bad... Lol ..

But there is a lot of violent glorifying white music... drop kick Murphy's is one I can think of of the top of my head.

Not to mention all those violent movies...

The point is, gangster rap is not the cause for this...

What would be a better analysis is the socio economic background of the perpetrators, the perceived abuse of law enforcers, the war on drugs, and how that war has militarized the police and how that war on drugs has created a situation where one group of sees the police as the enemy and not the keepers of the peace...

To blame music or other media is an easy way to not really think deeply about what is going on.
Don't understand the music discussion here. Seems like a silly thing to argue about.

The deaths of these two cops is appalling and hope to see the killers brought to justice.

I'm just wondering when all of the rioting and looting is going to start.

Quote:I guess only thugs out there living thug life are gangsta rappers and the mob.

If that's what you wanna believe, you go right ahead.. I guess I have to sit here and give you hundreds of definitions and examples of a thug because you're too damn dense to think of some examples for yourself..

No one is blaming the music, its an outcome of the cultural issues; a symptom if you will.

If you're a pharmacist at CVS, just do yourself a favor and call out sick when they start..
We MUST loot ALL the oxycontins in the name of those officers!!!
So if I listen to "gangster" rap, I will grow a propensity to kill cops.

This is the same narrative to the marijuana debate.

It's either blame Obama or Tupac.

No, I'm just curious as to why that is the only one you gave when you have 100 to choose from.
Quote:I think it reflects their experience more than it influences it.

I'd say it's a bit of both.

Lot of strawmen being set up by both sides in this thread

Let me guess.. You and JFC are kin and think everything is about race..

I try and stay above the fray when threads dissolve into the back and forth but I just wanted to chime in while I don't agree with jtmoney's point of view he's not a racially focused poster. He's made several post in the political form and I think it's a little unfair to try and lump him in with JFC who only post on racial agendas

That's all I'm getting back out of here I have no desire to take part in the back and forth.

I know he's not.. Thats why I said what I did.. But it sounded to me like he was headin'down that road.

Great point. To me, the biggest issue is not having two parents in the house who are supportive, caring, nurturing, loving, teaching right and wrong, good morals, etc.  Huge issue in the country I believe. One that could solve a lot of issues.
