I see Kane and Bortles2Blackmon are avoiding this thread like the plague now. Stoopid jinxers! Tongue

Quote:Yeah, umm... I'm going to go with Clowney on this one.

Man, I hope you didn't fry any brain cells conjuring up that insightful bit.
Well this thread took an unexpected turn.  aPatel06, thanks for jinxing us!

Quote:Clowney still has the bigger hill to climb. Micro fracture surgery is extremely tough to come back 100% from. An ACL injury isn't as bad as long as it was a clean tear.

Hope that makes you sleep better at night, fowler will never be the same.. He'll never be the prospect y'all drafted.. Hell look at Brian Cushing. Once a knee goes it's over. I'm just counting the days before Derek Rose has another incident

Don't worry I didn't anymore than the idiots who questioned Clowney's motor or questioned his love for football. All he had was his eye on the prize and protected himself his last year in college..he should've been allowed to come out so I can't blame him. By all accounts he was one of the hardest workers in camp and he's ahead of schedule on his rehab.

He'll never be the player we thought we drafted, but neither will fowler and that sucks. Clowney will still make plays though due to his athleticism.. He just won't be the super star we thought we were getting and neither will fowler
He's 20. He'll come back.

Clowney never has and never will have the motor that fowler has, and players come back from acl injuries all the time.

Not a lot of players come back from micro fracture.

So to blanket say something like that is silly. Maybe they both won't, maybe they both will. The Texans still don't have a QB and their toilet store fans clearly only have something to boast about when something bad happens to another team.
Love Fowler no matter what after his press conference

We could boast about having a better record than the Jags despite not having a qb, yet we don't and nobody is boasting about Fowler's injury, it sucks.. I truly feel sorry for the kid. We just share your pain. ACL, microfractue it doesn't matter, he'll never be the same player (neither will Clowney).. It doesn't mean he can't be a good player, but he'll never be the same and this is coming from someone who actually tore their's

maclin, reggie wayne, gronk, jamaal charles, von miller, dominique easley, chris clemons, ray mcdonald, chris harris, darelle revis, tyrann mathieu, not to mention peterson...

have all had torn ACLs and been very productive after, some of them even better.

how many relevant guys can you come up with that can say that after microfracture?

edit: how about thomas davis? that dude has had 3 ACL injuries and is playing pretty productively.

Thanks for actually sharing your thoughts, and you may be right about both players. At this point, if I'm putting money on it, I would agree with you about both players being more likely to not meet expectations because of their respective knee injuries. I would have a hard time picking Clowney over Fowler, not because of talent (Clowney has way more of it), but because I believe a microfracture surgery is more serious than an ACL in nature. At the same time, I could see Clowney being even or slightly better than Fowler in terms of production, because he's that talented.

There's just no such thing as a sure thing in the NFL.

Do we really need to go to "who's injury is worst?" atm.  Sucked for us, sucks for you.  Future will tell how are injured draftees will work out.

It will be a harder road for Clowney, let's just hope Fowler's knee injury was a clean tear

We all know Cushing fell off because he was juicing and then stopped after getting caught with masking agents in his system.
I'm not avoiding anything. I just don't live on the internet like some of you turds.  :woot:

No one on here jinxed anything. Injuries happen.

I would still bet good money Fowler has the better career. And I'd revisit this discussion in 2016 when (hopefully) both guys are healthy.

Let's be real guys, don't compare the two injuries. They aren't the same. And to assume that Fowler won't be the same player again is silly. The history of ACLs proves that many come back just fine. AP did it at an older age. Von Miller did it. McGahee.

Fowler will be just fine. He'll be super hongry too.
Quote:You jinxed us.    :verymad:
Yes... I did it... I said something and through NFL magic, Fowler's knee was weakened and I caused him to misstep.

D'oh!

Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!!!
Quote:Discuss.
Well it cant be Fowler Jr as he is injured and out for the season with his ACL tear so it has to be Clowney.  Even if both were healthy Clowney is going into his 2nd year despite his injury last season he is now going into his 2nd year and she start to know his role there.
