Quote:We could boast about having a better record than the Jags despite not having a qb, yet we don't and nobody is boasting about Fowler's injury, it sucks.. I truly feel sorry for the kid. We just share your pain. ACL, microfractue it doesn't matter, he'll never be the same player (neither will Clowney).. It doesn't mean he can't be a good player, but he'll never be the same and this is coming from someone who actually tore their's
That sucks. I tore mine twice in 2007 and 2008 and it's definitely not a good feeling.

But he'll be fine. We're at a point where a torn ACL is simply a season ending injury and nothing more, especially at such a young age.

The hurdle will be in his head and whether he will feel comfortable planting on that knee again but that will go away after repetition, if it even affects him in that manner.
1.) I am as much a homer as anyone here.  I bleed teal!

2.) When dealing with pass rushers, there's a punchers chance that a guy like dee ford or another later round pick could wind up being a 30 sack guy, it just works that way sometimes.  That being said,

3.) This isn't even really a question.  Fowler is a great football player with great instincts, he's not physical he's VIOLENT and I will enjoy having him on this team for the foreseeable future, but if you had to draw up a once in a lifetime pass rusher it would be clowney.

I'll wait until halfway through 2016 season to tell ya.
The Texans expect Clowney to be ready Week 1, but he won't see a full complement of snaps upon his return. Aside from J.J. Watt, the Texans don't have much in the pass-rush department. Whitney Mercilus will handle one outside linebacker spot, but snaps are up for grabs after Brooks Reed signed with Atlanta.

I guess it'll be a slow start for Clowney either way he'll have way more experince than Fowler at the start of next season so this thread is really silly.

Quote:maclin, reggie wayne, gronk, jamaal charles, von miller, dominique easley, chris clemons, ray mcdonald, chris harris, darelle revis, tyrann mathieu, not to mention peterson...

have all had torn ACLs and been very productive after, some of them even better.

how many relevant guys can you come up with that can say that after microfracture?

edit: how about thomas davis? that dude has had 3 ACL injuries and is playing pretty productively.

Add Adrian Peterson to that list, correct? He had a career year when he came back off his injury.
Clowney did not have the year a lot of people thought he would have. I would put it at a even match up mainly because both are kind of injury prone. But I think Clowney will have the better overall career.

both injury prone?  Other than the torn ACL when else was Fowler injured?

You don't know? If you get hurt your rookie season you are injury prone. Just like ARob, Lee, Joeckel, Sample, Lee (can make a case for Lee)
