3,332 yards and 39 touchdowns in the toughest conference in the nation over a 3 year career. Holy cow
Well at least the rb position was addressed.

Quote:Don't know what you guys are smoking, but TJ Yeldon is a solid pick up. He's going to be used as a third back not starter so what is the deal?

Yeah man, I honestly can't tell if you're being serious with this comment or not.
Quote:I'm a Gator fan and I like the pick, tho I would have picked him in the 3rd but word is Yeldon was a hot pick and we would have lost him, Him and Ajayi were the kinda of RBs we needed, can block and catch, AJayi knee might have scared us off

btw with all the crying over the Fowler pick I dont see how you can see its a lot of Gator fans around here

If Caldwell was truly "scared" Yeldon wouldn't be there later then we need a new GM.  Belichick has never been scared of someone sliding.  He simply finds talent anywhere and coaches it up.

Good point. Maybe just bitter fans that won't be happy no matter what.
All the experts and NFL people seem to love the pick though. I don't know guys. Ajayi And Duke were still on the board.

That's a lot of wear and tear on a position that doesn't last very long.
Balsy pick from a staff who's jobs are probably on the line....

Not to make too light of it but Alabama is a run it down your throat bruising team so they should have high running numbers anyway.
4.61 electronically timed 40 yard dash at the combine.

Tacks seem to be building a roster...

well this is the NFL draft! kinda the point

Lucky for us they drafted Mariota, who I don't think will be all that good.
Quote:Yeldon is not a bad back. Here's the problem...what's the difference in TJ, Tevn, Duke, Jay, David, Abdullah? I'll see how this draft goes. But if one or two of these guys are sitting in the 3rd round, I'd absolutely hate this pick. Even more if one of these guys are available in the 4th.

TJ is everything that Jay Ajayi is and more because of his ability to cut. Those moves of his also put him squarely above Duke who is more of a downhill runner. David as a former WR is more of a developmental RB who probably won't start right away. And I'm quite certain neither Tevin or Ameer will make it to round three.

Love this pick.  Took notice of Yeldon when he annihilated my Wolverines in Dallas a few years ago and have been a fan of him since.  Really hard to understand the hate on this pick.  I liked Duke too, but Yeldon slightly better and think he's a better fit for the type of back we need.

I got home late and we took Tj Yeldon? Ok Dave I REALLY hope you know what your doing
I like how Caldwell's pick don't follow the draftnik norm. It lets me know he's doing his own research and homework on the players and not just relying on heresay like most of us do.

Strong runner, not particularly fast but he's been very productive in college.  Maybe they think he can put on 10 pounds or so and become the back they wanted Gerhart to be.  If you can put aside his measurables and just look at his production you have reason to think this could be a good pick but to be honest, I think he would have still been there in the 3rd.  Feels like a reach.

FWIW, WalterFootball and Bleacher Report both liked the pick. And both are notorious Jaguars haters.

Hopefully his strategy isnt proven wrong by a 3rd sub 5 win season.
