Personal want perhaps, but also better player that fits a bigger need at a much more important position. Rowe at 36 would be better than any RB from every angle.

I would love to have Devin Smith, but we only need him for depth. Don't worry about DGB. He will start for whoever picks him and we don't need another starting WR.

It would be like the Fowler pick. Me saying the RB tier is like 12th best available isn't saying they are going to bust. Coleman/Abdullah/Ajayi/Yeldon/etc will be fine, solid not spectacular. Just gonna wind up wishing we went with a handful of different players when we look back in a little while.

If he does, why would anybody suggest he will be drafted as a running back? Shaq Thompson said he wanted to be a linebacker. So he was drafted as a linebacker.

I'm not sure. But I think when he gets around our guys, he would love to play FS with them. But I'm sure his want to play CB will defer after being around Gus for a bit.

So you are saying Fowler is the 12th best player in the draft and we picked him way too early? Sorry, but most if not all draftniks pegged him as a Jaguar.

If a player says, "I want to be a cornerback," you can't expect him to play free safety in the NFL. Obviously we need a true free safety who is a natural at the position, not a converted cornerback.

I am saying he was a middle third of the 1st round candidate, yes. I also don't care what other draftniks said, they are wrong all the time and so are NFL teams (and so are all of us). I listen to them, and they factor in to my opinion some for sure, but at least 80% of my grades are my own sole opinion from my own evaluations.

The problem is there are no great true FS in this draft. And converting a CB with great ball skills is the best way to get a FS in our scheme without reaching for a less talented FS. We'll see though. I didn't know he said he wanted to play CB. If that's true, then it's something I hope they possibly discussed.

Well, Rowe said at the Senior Bowl he preferred CB he never said he wouldn't play FS.
