Quote:Jameis is the gift that keeps on giving. I know it's been said on here before that Jameis is intelligent based on his 3.2 or whatever it is gpa, but the guy is seriously lacking in common sense, and overall intellect.

While I haven't followed the Jameis Winston off the field stuff as closely as most people reading this,  my impression is  lack of common sense and maturity are two major concerns with him. From  what what I have read or seen,  Winston is very book smart and has a high IQ.   But his lack of common sense and practical decision making beyond football puts the Bucs at great risk if they use pick # 1 on him.   I don't think Winston is a bad person.   He needs better direction in his life.  Hopefully,  he will find that before it's too late.

Why even say what he said…this WAS water under the bridge.

Just own up to it…you were already "punished" for it….It's not going to have an impact on you going #1in fact it might help in that you "own up" to your previous mistakes and show some "maturity".

Instead, he rips the scab off and raises questions for not only him but FSU//Publix and makes it a front page sports story….

If anyone ever fit the term Dumb---, it would be Jameis.

All book smarts, no common sense..
Quote:Yea he did.. he obviously wasn't thinking this was gonna get out.I do believe he did get hooked up before and this time with the crabs. Look how calm he walked out the door almost like it was normal. If wanted to steal something im sure he would have just hid it under his shirt. Think about it.

So you think there's nothing suspicious about walking through the back of the store, zig-zagging through the pharmacy, and out the front door?

And he's going to be the "face of the franchise" for some lucky club.

Is this really an issue? Lol the things people get worked up about these days.

It wasnt...that's the whole point.

Jameis made it an issue with his story
These things happen all the time and if you dont think so youre really clueless. These college athletes are broke. If they meet someone who is willingly going to give them free stuff you really think they would say no?

Would you have said no back in your college days? If your mommy and daddy were giving you money please dont respond because you havent been in that situation.

As for why he didnt give this story initially. This happened during the season, or before i cant really remember. He cant come out and say he was excepting free things. He could have been suspended for the whole year over being gifted a birthday cake. His only choice was to lie because the joke of the NCAA probably would have ended his season.

Yes, we know athletes in college get hooked up all the time. Free drinks at bars, free food at restaurants, etc. He wasn't hooked up here.

Also, the incident happened after the 2013-14 season.

Says who? I also saw on twitter from one of the big time reporters, forgot which one, said that the NFL teams who investigated the incident spoke to people at Publix and they verified Jaemis' story. This happened before the show even aired.

Dude im telling you NO! Its more then obvious they do this all the time and he lied about the situation so the employee don't lose his job or at worst cause another investigation against fsu.. But i guess he don't care now since he going pro.

I say. I work there. I would know. I know the guy who worked that night pretty well.

No but he still comes off as immature and not very bright.

Two things you don't want in your "franchise" QB.

I'm glad we got Bortles last year.
Quote:Ya who is dumb enough to believe his "hook up" story?

He said they got a hook up with a cake from the same guy a week earlier. Then the same person hooks him up with crab legs?

So unless publix now sells cakes and crab legs in the same department, he is making stuff up again. That would require two different employees in on it, which he made it seem like it was only one employee. And it's not like you pay for items anywhere other than the front of the store. Why would he presume that any employee working in the seafood department can give him free stuff when all they do is tag the item for the checkout?

Maybe it was a crab cake. Same dept.

And seeing/avoiding the cop working in the store that night.
So now JW is a LIAR.

Was he lying then, or is he lying now?

Either way, he's a liar.

Anyone who has ever been to a bar and the bartender goes "this next one is on me" did the exact same thing Jameis did there when he took the crablegs and chose not to pay for them.

The issue isn't even about the act of stealing or being "hooked up"...

The issues that this was a dead issue...no one cared if Jameis "Stole" them. But he makes a story to make himself look better by throwing FSU and a Publix employee under the bus.

Yeah. Sure.
