I would say Morris Claiborne for me too I wanted him over Blackmon but he is also young so who knows
Through 3 NFL seasons, I think it's fair to say that after Andrew Luck, the next 6 players taken in the 2012 Draft have been major disappointments in one or more ways. Other than Luck, the only player in the top 10 from that season that has lived up to his draft billing is Carolina Panthers MLB Luke Kuechly ( pick # 9. ).
Throw me onto the Trent Richardson bandwagon.
I thought he was going to be great.
Quote:I thought Trent Richardson was gonna be a stud.
I also thought Robert Gallery was gonna be a stud as well. I was on that hype full speed ahead.
Gallery ended up having a decent career after a position switch. A bust maybe because of where and for what position he was originally drafted for but the Raiders got some good play from him after a switch to G.
Blackmon, locker, Clausen, t rich were the big ones for me recently.

Me, too.
Seemed like Alabama had an NFL RB pipeline at the time.

You're right, but everybody thought he was the next great LT and just could not handle being on the edge. It was a disaster watching him trying to handle speed rushers, it was like his feet were stuck in mud.
If he would have been viewed as a guard from day one and drafted accordingly his career would be looked at much differently.

Agree. Move to G was a successful salvage.
Problem was the pick.
That's why I don't agree with the "if you like him take him no matter when" mentality. It's fine to target a guy. Just pay the right price. No one player is the only player worth having in the draft, and there's more than one position to draft. Fixate on one guy, and you'll miss out on others.
For the Jags, I was so hyped after the draft when they got Harvey and Groves...I was sure that they had just got the new and improved Freeney and Mathis for years to come. Justin Blackmon is a very close second to date.
Outside the Jags, and mentioned earlier, I thought Dion Jordan was going to be a terror in the league.
Melvin Ingram
Aaron Curry
Matt Leinart
I'm so ashamed

Aaron Curry for sure. Man did he look like a future star.
Oh my goodness.
My list would last for days seemingly.
In no particular order....
Tony Mandarich
Leeland McElroy
Steve Emtman-thpugh I consider him an injury bust-not a true, flat out bust like Leaf
Ryan Leaf
KiJana Carter (injury)
Tony Smith
Justin Blackmon
Daniel Stubbs
Van Waiters (Before my anti Indiana bias)
Trent Richardson
Percy Snow
R. Edwards (another injury bust)
Dexter Carter
Vinny Testaverde
Alonzo Highsmith
Brian Bozworth
Terrell Buckley
Matt Leinart
Rey Maualuga
Dan Wilkinson
and many others.

Championship
I think it's safe to state that there has probably been one player in just about every draft that I've wanted that simply hasn't panned out.
One of the bigger names was Adam Carriker. I really thought he was going to be a prototypical 5 Technique type that could be moved all around the Defensive Line and never have to leave the field.
I remember being sold on Dexter Jackson, the WR from Appalachian State. I thought he was going to be a terrific slot guy, but he never panned out for Tampa Bay.
Of course, his career got cut awfully short due to injuries, but I was all in on David Pollack, the DE from Georgia. Would really have liked to see what he could have done in the League.
I wanted us to draft Brady Quinn the year we traded back to get Reggie Nelson. I really wanted that. Glad they didn't do it.
Assuming you are just talking about taking an "AVAILABLE" player at the time of the selection, mine are as follows ......
Andy Katzenmoyer (LB - Ohio State) instead of Fernando Bryant
Kenyatta Walker (OL - Florida) instead of Stroud
Players I would have liked to have seen in teal were:
Stephon Gillmore (CB South Carolina)
Kyle Von Noy (DE BYU)
Brain Quick (WR Appalachian State)
Vernon Davis (TE Maryland)
Justin Blackmon, Mark Barron, stephen hill, corderrelle patterson
