Quote:Probably why Goodell hates Tom and the Pats so much.

I think you mean love? The pats have been caught cheating multiple times in this era and the worst punishment they received was this year? How could he possibly hate the Patriots? Robert Kraft is the reason he got the comish job in the first place

Until now, the punishments fit the "crime."  This time, it didn't.  Goodell couldn't prove his involvement, and suspended him out of spite.  The proper punishment for not maintaining proper inflation is simply a fine.

Would you say Kraft's victory speech was genuine, or was he just pretending and playing the crowd in a WWE way?

If you didn't watch it, you should.  It was as close to going below the belt as you possibly could.

And it was good.
Quote:Brady's style of play (immobile pocket passer, dink & dunk passes) will allow him to play for a few more years. If compared to Favre, who was a gunslinger -- you can make the case that Favre depended on his arm strength and mobility to make plays, and after he turned 40, he lost velocity on his passes and he was much less mobile.

Brady can still sit in the pocket and throw quick 5-yard outs, slants, screens, etc... which is his bread and butter.

Serious question. Did you watch the game? Tom Brady had 466 yards passing. What dink and dunk do you speak of. Look at his overtime drive. 15 plus yard passes every play.

Yeah, I get it. Not all people like him because of success, but the guy still has the arm.

made a key 15 yard scramble too pretty good fora  39 year old immobile passer
You don't need to be fast to be mobile. Brady is the best at feeling the pressure and moving to the right places to buy himself time. Brady didn't throw a lot of huge shots down the field but part of that could be the WRs too. They are pretty small and not that fast. Also, why air it out over the top in the 2nd half when you can pick up 15-20 yard chunks safely all the way up and down that field? The arm strength is fine. It isn't the deep throws that you need to measure arm strength on, it is fitting it into tight windows on the short and intermediate routes. I specifically remember watching him throw a screen last night, it was a frozen rope of a ball, if he didnt have zip on the ball, the route would have been jumped.

Quote: That was a huge part of the Super Bowl story.

Ultimately, what destroyed the Falcons yesterday was the 3rd and 1 forced fumble by D. Hightower on a blitz/ dog and the sack that Matt Ryan took on the next series of downs following Julio Jones' tremendous sideline catch.

It was a horrendous call, but Freeman made it worse when he missed picking up Hightower.
Quote:Came up during the game in the second half. I think that's in general. I still think last night's game tops the Buffalo come back over Houston considering it was a Superbowl.

Yeah, no doubt Sunday nights epic Super Bowl 25 point down comeback tops the Buffalo comeback from 32 points down in the playoffs, I was just wondering where the 0-93 game stat when down by 19 points came from. I missed it when they must have said it on TV.

Here's a list of the NFLs largest playoff comebacks:  http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/1/4/527...l-playoffs

The only other thing I can think of is that they were specifically talking about Championship games, 51 Super Bowls and 42 other Football championships before the Super Bowl was created. It's no big deal, I just saw the stat you posted and was just curious about it, that's all.
Brady isnt that good. Atlanta just choked.
Yeah. I write inflammatory things myself from time to time.

Especially when I don't know how to start a conversation like a grown up.

Have you been in a cave?

The steelers, just this year, did the same thing the Pats did and it was a headline for a few days and absolutely nothing happened.

It was the most hair brained effort, which hunt seen in the public eye.  They didn't even know air pressure will go down when it gets colder.  They lied to reporters.

All to get Brady and the Pats over something that was stupid to begin with.  Really stupid.

Brady isn't that good.......

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

7 Superbowls.

5 Rings.

He's the GOAT.

I may have missed it, but you must be joking.   I'll acknowledge being trolled if that is the case.  I have to assume that.
Quote:Brady isnt that good.
Absolutely speechless…

For your potential radio gig's sake, I hope you are kidding.

Holy smokes bro, someone really despises Brady''s success. Dude is the best to ever play. The most clutch QB this game will EVER see. Let me just say...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (gasping for breath)

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Quote:Yeah what a shocker...after a season of ratings dropping the league-created "bad boy" vs Roger happens to make the largest comeback in SB history...and force the 1st ever OT in SB history...and the Falcons happen to completely collapse after out-coaching and out-playing the Pats in EVERY facet for 3 quarters...I mean really, they checked every box. Hit Tom early? Establish the run? Get a lead so the D can pin back their ears and focus on swing plays?

Which team winning would garner more emotion and thus clicks and thus $? The widely despised Patriots. Transparent. I'm not a conspiracy guy but I saw the writing on the wall even in the 3rd. Peyton "happens" to win in his swan song season and then this Brady vs Roger nonsense.

Apparently the NFL didnt learn from the MLB in overtaking them as Americas sport. Retired baseball players admitting to corruption caused the popularity to plummet.

I'm not saying the Bowl was corrupt, but wow what convenient storylines for the $ bottom line. Suspicious to say the most, disappointing to say the least.

And the whole Brady's mom thing was oddly invasive and reeked of attention/sympathy mongering. "We'll paint him as the heel, but we'll humanize him through relatable suffering so that when he wins you feel guilty to question the circumstances."

As Skeet said, (bad word) the Patriots, and anyone silly enough to not see the $ behind this. Sickening.

I guess the league has tainted Brady's legacy.  I have loved the QB position for as long as i can remember and Brady has looked the best and played the best as far as i can remember.

I still refuse to call him "THE BEST" until they can say, without a doubt, NE never cheated an it was all just blown out of proportion.  I have never watched a player on any team that considers himself the best, go through the scandals that NE and Brady have been through during their run of greatness.  Not once do i remember this from DAL or SF in the 90's nor any other dominating team.  I think its more about trying to be respectful than him truly earning his title of Greatest Ever.

Every Major Sports figure that has set records during or post a career scandal has had an asterisk next to their name.  Bonds, ARod, etc but Brady is just the best no matter what just because.  Whatever i disagree.

I really dont disagree and said this right after the Steelers game in the AFC Championship.  Everyone still thinks its comical that it could be predicted by ME,  a regular joe smo NFL fan.  i called the remake of the Ravens 49ers game just due to the controversy and the embarrassment the SB was looking like with the Blowout in NO.  Brady is the bad boy all of last year and ever since the cheating scandals, then he comes back with a hell of a season,  makes the SB, Looks subpar like an average to below average QB then BAMMMMMMMMMM,  4TH QUARTER Starts.......GREATEST COMEBACK EVER 25pts DOWN IN SB, 1ST OT EVER, STICKS IT TO GODDELL AGAIN FINALLY MEETING HIM AFTER SB WIN, YADDA YADDA YADDA.

You can lead a horse to water but.....We all know the rest smh.  Oh yea and this was all after a year with an embarrassing ratings collapse in whats suppose to be one of the greatest american sports outside of Baseball(who also had their own cheating scandals reported by former greats).  whatever tho

How I feel about Brady

I did watch the game, and the majority of the game Brady relied heavily on dinking and dunking...which is fine. Joe Montana primarily did this as well in a west coast offense. I believe that Brady's 466 passing yards derive from a record 62 pass attempts.

Here is just 1 example of corroboration for my view point - Article from the Sporting News:

"One of the reasons Ryan had so few pass attempts, which then led to minimal targets for Jones, was time of possession. The Patriots had the ball for 40 minutes and 31 seconds compared to the Falcons' 23:27. New England accomplished this mostly by completing short passes and moving the chains, as it set a Super Bowl record for first downs by a single team with 37."

My point was that compared to Favre, who relied more heavily on his arm strength and mobility, Brady's style of play will allow him to play longer.

Spygate: The patriots were filming the Jets, which was/is 100% legal to do, but they were filming from the area that wasn't allowed to be filmed from(it was allowed the previous year). Not much of a scandal when you break it down to the simple facts right?

Deflategate: The footballs were 100% tested and proven to lose the exact amount of air that was supposedly "deflated" under the normal temp drop and playtime. This has been demonstrated by multiple third party sources. But you can't spend a few million on and investigation only to end up looking like a fool..... Not to mention that the NFL made it a point to record the psi on the footballs the following year...funny how they straight up refused to release that data. I know why Smile Not much of a scandal when the simple facts are broken down right?

Both cases were EXTREMELY blown out of proportion and do not discredit Brady or Belichick one single iota to anyone with at least 2 functioning brain cells.

You forgot to mention how it was no big deal and buried as quickly as possible, with them refusing to comment when the steelers were found with under inflated footballs this year.

Anyone who actually read the deflate gate report by Wells will have to see that for what it was- not a report designed at revealing the truth, but rather to substantiate one version.

I do mean anyone.  Not to mention they will puke at the millions they paid that guy and his form to generate something so poorly written.
