Quote:When was the last time the Jags "wowed" you?

That question is for everyone.
Wow... it's been a long time since I can honestly say the Jags have 'wow'ed' me in a positive way. It sure would be nice to be WOW'ed! in a good way this season.
Quote:I know 6 wins would be an improvement over what we have had over the past several seasons, but I just don't see how anybody would be "very happy" with just 6 wins and another double digit loss season.

It just seems to me that would be some low standards, especially in the 3rd year of a rebuild. Just too low for me, personally.

I voted a realistic under 8-8, but am obviously hoping for better.

I could see fans being "very happy" with an 8-8 record for this upcoming season though, as it would at least not be another losing record season, and that would definitely show improvement.

I know there is only a 2 win difference between 6 wins and 8 wins, but it would seem like so much more than that if the Jags could get to that 8 win total.
I voted 9-7 because, I am always optimistic this time of year.

I think 7 wins is a realistic expectation. As in... less than 7 wins would warrant much of the hand wringing that will go on.

This team should be at least sub .500 competitive this year.

If not.. then seats should be warm... for the coaches. I think Dave has done an excellent job acquiring talent. From Marks and Miller, to numerous draft selections like Telvin and Colvin that seem prime to be stars, getting a 6th for Gabs, to signing the contracts the way it will help the franchise sustain success if/when it is reached.

I mean... this dude hasn't really made one head scratching move yet. Sure some you might not agree with, especially with hindsight being 20/20 (like the Toby Gerhart signing or Watson)

but the Alualu pick had everyone speechless in the worst way or the Anger selection...

This team SHOULD win 7 games. If not, I consider it a failure of year 3.
I hope you guys go 15-1.
Quote:Blake becomes Blaine? Are you serious?

What are they going to do, neuter him?
yeah no kidding lol
if we go 6-10 or 7-9, it's a great result in a future perspective

Quote:Wins:

@ Tennessee Titans

vs Tennessee TItans

vs Houston Texans

@ New York Jets

@ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Losses:

@ Houston Texans

@ Indianapolis Colts

vs Indianapolis Colts

@ New England Patriots

@ Baltimore Ravens

vs San Diego Chargers

vs Atlanta Falcons

vs Carolina Panthers

@ New Orleans Saints

vs Miami Dolphins

vs Buffalo Bills

5-11.

I think we need to win one more game than that to believe that the Jaguars are headed in the right direction.  Worse than 6-10, and I think the team will be in real trouble.
If they hit on Jameis Winston, Tampa is a winnable game, but it will be a tough to win game.  Offensively they could be a difficult matchup for just about any defense with Evans and Jackson.

Strangely, I'd like our chances to beat a depleted New Orleans team better than Tampa at this point.

I think I'd like our chances to beat Miami, too.

Maybe San Diego if they assume lame duck status in San Diego.
Wow you start a guess our wins thread, and the only option that isn't a winning record is 8-8 or below? Did you watch this team last year? I think 5 or 6 are a reasonable expectation with this bunch. 7 if we are lucky. 4 remains a distinct possibility.

yeah I agree completely with this list. Especially seeing the opponents. We will probably win one game we are not supposed to, and probably lose one of the tack match-ups. 5-11 feels like a realistic expectation to me. I will be disappointed if we get less.
I see the Jaguars, winning 6 to 8 at the most. The team is improving. Our younger players now have some experiance. Another solid off season of work outs will get the team ready to upset a couple teams this season. This is the season Jacksonville starts to win.

4-12 to 6-10
5-6 wins

8 wins and a collective sigh of relief that this build may yield results.

It doesn't matter because the Jaygwires don't measure success by wins and losses man! I predict this special group realizes what an opportoony this is, competes, and gets better as the season goes on man and that's what this is all about man!

They only win 4 games again I'm rioting just sayin.......
You can "what if" all day, but if Scobee's kick isn't blocked against the tacks and Shorts catches the ball at Houston we're 5-11.  That would have been 3 final drive wins by Bortles including the Giants game.  The future is bright. I will be shocked and very disappointed if we don't win at least 7 this year

Irony much?

No luck at all involved in our win over the heavily-favored Browns, either. The better overall team just did what was expected of them, I guess.

Listened to the Sea Hawks GM on the radio this morning. In a " Captain Obvious " statement, he said that the league is designed for every team to go 8-8 over time. I believe that's true. The extent to which any team exceeds or misses that .500 mark is a measure of the effectiveness of ownership, coaches, scouts, and, not least of all, luck.

With that said, I believe that the Jags have most of those variables fixed. A great owner, good but yet unproven coaches, good scouting and analytical people. With a little luck, I believe the team will achieve a 7-9 record in 2015, and a 10-6 record, and reach the playoffs, in 2016.
By week 2 we will have the same record as 50% of the league
If the Jaguars get the type of trade down offer with the pick # 3 draft resource that provides the team with several more picks in the early and mid rounds,   the team might be a year ahead of schedule.  While it remains to be seen if the Jaguars get such an offer,   I believe the team brass would prefer trading down if everything is equal.
