Poll should have had more options.
I'd love to have a beer at a sports bar with one of the 6 guys who voted that Jags would win 10+ games next year. I've always found that an in person talk cuts through the nonsense much faster. You can't have any credibility at all with that type of wild prediction.

Why is that a wild prediction its someones opinion! You know the jags would have went at least 8-8 if we scored 20-24 pts every game last year! Its very possible with the right pieces like coaching and players the jags could win 10 games. I wouldn't rule anything out!

...Because the mindset of the fans should be 10 wins.
We [BLEEP] on this site all the time about how the National perception of this team is off.
We rave about how Shad, Gus and Dave are changing the losing ways. How our fans are ravenous. How wining changes everything. Changing the Culture!
But then we say its acceptable for this team to be sub .500
What a joke.
Its not acceptable for this team to be 6-10 or worse.
We are 3 years into a rebuild. We need to win. We should demand to win. But most importantly we should EXPECT to win.
Otherwise we are Cleveland south. They wear shirts that say “Factory of Sadness”. That’s pathetic.
That’s what you become when losing becomes acceptable.
A lot of guys are hedging their bets here. I want them to win 10, but expect 6.
That’s like saying I want Wisconsin to win but think Duke will. Your just CYA. Can’t be wrong in that case. Nothing changes.
I’ll have that beer with you…..
In my pre-draft view, I see 5-6 wins.
On offense, Julius Thomas is a difference maker, and combined with the growth of Bortles and the WRs, should give us 3-4 more wins. My gut says Parnell will turn out to be an average right tackle. If the draft can produce high quality guys at RB and the slot, I could see enough points to balloon the wins to 8-9.
On defense, unfortunately, Odrick, House, Skuta, and Brown don't move the needle much for me without an impact pass rusher.

A prediction should reflect reality. I predict that Jags will go 19-0 for the next 10 seasons. Well, I don't actually cause that would be batcrap crazy. Predicting the Jags to win 10 games next year is disconnected from reality. It's theoretically possible but there is nothing you can point to on the field to justify that.

I agree with you concerning how unacceptable this level of losing is. I'm not an apologist for current regime. But a prediction should not be a reflection of what you want reality to be or an exercise in CYAing. It should be your best guess ON WHAT WILL HAPPEN. In this instance, HOW MANY GAMES WILL THE JAGS WIN IN 2015? If your answer is 10+, it is a wild answer.

How is it theoretically possible then?
Only, except there be something on the field to justify that. The jags have added pieces to the puzzle.. Probowl Te. New OC,New OL coach,Starting RT and Dt. Now if they nail this draft, you telling me there ain't a chance they can win just 10 games next year? COME ON MANNN!! Texans almost did it last year and thet #1 pick, didn't really play at all last season.
Its not disconnecting from reality.. its disconnecting from the losing culture around here and wanting to finally win some games as a fan.
I think 10 wins will be great!

A nice write up ESPN did on the Jaguars depth chart

Roy Miller: He is coming off surgery to repair torn cartilage in his knee but is expected to be fine for the season opener.

Ziggy Hood: This is
Sen'Derrick Marks’ spot, but he’s recovering from a torn ACL and won’t be ready for the season opener.

I am saying 6 - 10 minimum and hoping personally for an 8 - 8 team. I dont see them as an above .500 team just yet. I think 2016 is that year where they absolutely must win 10 games and either be in the hunt or land a spot or title. Caldwell has to get a RB though. That's crucial at this point.
The Jaguars must win at least six games. This is the year the Jaguars make some noise. Pull off a couple upsets, yet lose a few games, because of mistakes. Five wins or less is not going to cut it.
We need to stay as positive as possible going into the 2015 season lets send positive vibes every body .
This team is still very young but I am expecting 6-7 wins. Anything less than 6 wins and the heat turns up Gus/Dave.
5 if we catch some breaks here and there.

How often has the NFCS had a worst to first turnaround?
It isn't as far fetched as many would think.
Though I don't think it is likely... If we went from 3 to 10 wins, it'd be a hellacious jump, but I wouldn't be surprised if Caldwell's picks start to pan out like he and all of us hope in year 3.
I think Jaguars win again and playoffs in the year! Much better Bortles then lots of us think!
Ill post mine after the draft
3rd year and we're happy with 6-10. Yikes
