Why are they gauranteed a postseason appearance based off of regular season title?

Correct.  If they win 3 more games and win ASUN tourney, they compete in NCAA tournament, but as of now are in the NIT.  Either way its a big deal for the school and the program.

Oh ok, got ya. I didn't realize that was an automatic for that tournament. Good for them. I wonder how long they can hold on to the coach they have. He has done a lot in a pretty short period of time.

I'm guessing they have one more year with him and then it will be tough to hold on.

 

He was on with Martineau last night live and he seemed like a pretty genuine guy.

I really hope they can win the tourney and make it into the NCAA. If they make it to Sunday (which they should), that arena will be rocking. Stetson is pretty awful and then they get the winner of N. Kentucky/Lipscomb. They swept both pretty easily in the regular season. Assuming the title game would be against Gulf Coast or USC-Upstate. Both teams are pretty on par with the Ospreys.

Based on what the radio said USC-Upstate has owned UNF as of late.

Yeah, I am not sure why but that seems to be the case. I was at the first game and frankly, UNF blew it. They were rolling them early and just played a really sloppy second half.

They do have that one really good kid.  When he is on, they are a tough team.

I will be there Sunday if they make it. UNF Arena will be an awesome atmosphere. Should be packed, including many students.

Do they play Florida Gulf Coast now?  They've beaten them twice....that third game is always the kicker. (Unless you're the Jags/Titans in 99)

Lipscomb in semis

UNF should be able to handle Lipscomb. Either team Sunday will be tough. Hopefully home court makes a difference.

UNF is the perfect example that winning fills the stands and creates excitement.  Until recently the only moderately decent basketball team in town was JU.  UNF has a good year and everyone is on board and wants to go watch them play.  

 

I only hope this happens for the Jags soon. lol

The best news is that Coach Driscoll is at UNF for at least 3 more years.
