Let's cut Skipper some slack. It only took him 6 games to recognize that Latavius Murray was the best RB on the roster.

Haha. Wallbash
Is this official? He's been named the RB coach?

No. Only been tweeted that they will interview him.

Official that Richardson was fired, though.

After interviewing him today, #Jaguars expected to hire Kelly Skipper as RB coach.

Championship!

We seem to be adding more NFL coaching experience to the staff. The previous guys were light on NFL experience. I think that alone will pay dividends for such a young offense. I wouldn't knock this guy just because Oakland had a dumpster fire of a roster at RB.
It's like just about every other hire. Everything in context. His rankings in Oakland were all over the place, so hopefully with the right talent, he can be an effective coach. We'll see soon enough.

One thing I do believe is that Robinson seemed to take a long time to develop, and I still don't think he's really where you want your feature back to be in the progression. That's probably some of the reasoning behind this coaching change since a guy with DRob's athletic ability should be further along than he is. There were times last year where he looked the part, and others where he didn't.

I'm impartial to who is coaching the rbs. Good and/or experienced coaches are nice, but you have to be fielding some sort of talent for coaching to even matter. At this point, I don't see a clear cut starter at tailback. Hopefully FA or the draft will change that. Heck maybe even D-Rob gains 5-10 more lbs, progresses and lights it up next year!

With all these D list hires, a thought crossed my mind... are we gearing up to obtain the 2016 first draft pick?
I definitely think we need to bring in some competition at RB.

If that was really the plan they would've fired everyone and signed Kelley Skipper as HC.

True. But then again he may have been the one lobbying for Murray to start and it took Dennis Allen 6 games to finally give in.
Being tweeted as ***Official*** now.

I'm impartial to the hire considering a RB coaches job isn't much, other than grounding out fundamentals. RB is probably the one position in the league that's easiest to play and we see it time and time again when rookies come in every year and light it up. The coaches aren't getting praise for Jamaal Charles, Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch etc. Its the talent.
FWIW - The average ranking of the Oakland RBs during the 6 year span he coached them is 17th.

There were high peaks of 2nd and 7th -- along with lows of 28th and 32nd.

Of all the position coaches, this one is really weighted on the talent at RB and the Line that's blocking for that talent. His record indicates as much.

I find this effort of Gus' to reshuffle his staff totally exciting. It is like he is readying his own team for the high adventure that is soon to follow. Everything is coming together for the Jaguars and expectations are high. I feel confident that the Jags are making all the right moves to improve the team and put a better product on the field.

Anyone know Seattle and NE's RB coach?

Didn't think so.
