Quote:Don't get me wrong, I know how to use a gun safely and have been to the range a few times even after I left FL. Im just meh on it.

But have you ever used tenorite, that's the stuff in the gif on my sig.
I still like Chris Rock's bit on Bullet control:

“You don’t need no gun control, you know what you need? We need some bullet control. Man, we need to control the bullets, that’s right. I think all bullets should cost five thousand dollars… five thousand dollars per bullet… You know why? Cause if a bullet cost five thousand dollars there would be no more innocent bystanders.

Yeah! Every time somebody get shot we’d say, ‘Damn, he must have done something ... [BAD WORD REMOVED}, he’s got fifty thousand dollars worth of bullets in his [BAD WORD REMOVED].’

And people would think before they killed somebody if a bullet cost five thousand dollars. ‘Man I would blow your [BAD WORD REMOVED] head off…if I could afford it.’ ‘I’m gonna get me another job, I’m going to start saving some money, and you’re a dead man. You’d better hope I can’t get no bullets on layaway.’

So even if you get shot by a stray bullet, you wouldn't have to go to no doctor to get it taken out. Whoever shot you would take their bullet back, like "I believe you got my property.”

Where did you get that from gif anyways?
Quote:I'm for completely restoring felons rights after they've served their time, that includes voting, gun ownership, ect....

as for the mentally ill, if they're deemed safe enough to live outside of an institution who am I to judge if they should or shouldn't own a firearm? If someone's really so mentally unstable that they can't be trusted with a firearm why are they not institutionalized?

Most of the time the "mentally ill" is used to strip vets with PTSD, or someone that had a bad year and told the wrong doctor.

Completely disagree with this.

Once you commit a serious felony crime you deserve to not have some rights restored back to you. Owning a firearm is a big responsibility just like owning a vehicle its a privilege at that point.

I have worked with mentally ill patients and they are self clinically trained to manipulate normal minded individuals into thinking their mental issues are put in the past. The mental health industry is overwhelmed buy the huge increase in people being treated for mental health issues. Instutionalizing those same people, would bankrupt the insurance industry.
