Quote:Chad Henne was the QB last year.  MJD was the RB.  The OL had FIVE different starters.  Ace Sanders was our best offensive player.  The secondary couldn't cover.  The LBs were old and slow.  The DL could not stop the run or pressure the passer.

Or maybe you remember a different team from last year?

That team won twice as many games.
Quote:Fire the coach?  Is this the only idea drunk people ever have?

The team is a lot better than last year.

But they seriously need to create "competition" on the OL.  It was insane to go with rookie OL, rookie WRs and a rookie QB.  But what choice did they have?  These 3 positions take the longest to acclimate to the pros.  Many in these positions have very modest seasons even when given substantial playing time and surrounded with veteran talent.  I feel like the offense was really put through the wringer.  Gotta hope it just accelerates the maturity process and makes them a lot tougher next year.  Going through it together may help in the long run.

Week to week is hard to watch but let this process continue.  The team will be better again next year, perhaps much better.

Define "much better". What does that mean to you?
Ahem...................we had all those deficiencies last year but still won 4 games! What is wrong with this picture?

The schedule this year is harder. duh

But according to some, it was twice as bad.

Are we a better team then last year, with half the wins?

Some say YES, some say NO. Who's right?

We look better then last year at times, but we looked so so bad last year, that's not saying as much as it sounds like.

I'm really beginning to believe that last years 4-12 record should really be considered some sort of miraculous accomplishment and the record really should have been either 1-15 or maybe 2-14.

That way, with the Jags being 2-12, with 2 games remaining, it would look like they would actually have a chance to "improve" over last year with a win in either of their last 2 games.

If they lose both, well then the just equal last years win total and can still claim to be "improving" because they will have looked better then last year, without having a worse record.

Fitzpatrick just broke his leg, we're going to get to 3 wins like I said months ago. Bradley isn't going anywhere. I would fire the special teams coach tomorrow morning. Not one Punt or Kickoff returned for a TD this year. That's pretty sorry. Ace Sanders can take a hike. Our Oline is atrocious. Joeckle got worked all game. Bowanko was missing block after block and Linder was inconsistent. The defense got no pass rush today, yes, they stopped the run, but Flacco picked us apart just like Manning did for years. Bortles didn't help matters much with all the high wobbly balls he was throwing, not to mention throwing the ball from 3 yards past the LOS. It's an inexcusable play. Either tuck and run, cause he would have had the 1st down, or throw it away.

3-13 here we come... Mariotta time... Bortles is no good.

What's the fascination with this Mariotta kid?

Also, Flacco didn't pick us apart.  I thought our D held their own.  They were gashed a couple times, but that happens in today's NFL.

Bortles, so long as he not ruined by this horrible O-Line, is still looking like he'll be legit.  He just needs some better coaching, I think...

One thing I do believe is correct:  Bradley comes back next year.  I think we win on Thursday and it's just enough to bring him and his staff back...

But if we lose this Thursday, I don't see how any of the coaches are around.  Thursday is a must win.  And I honestly don't see how we lose that game.

Fortunately for you and other fans that are not afflicted with that knee jerkious maximus disease, the brass of this team also realize that very thing.

If somehow you can survive the endless onslaught of bedwetting and self soiling, things will get better.

The message hasn't changed since this rebuild started. Some are just too soft to stomach it.

Speaking of "must wins". when was the last time the Jags actually played in a must win game?

I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure they lost the last "must win" game, but please refresh my memory.

The game on Thursday Night against the tacks is definitely a winnable game, but I don't consider it a "must win" for either team.
I would surmise most everybody knew this season was not going to be a winning season. However, most everyone expected some improvement in the W/L column. That is the issue.

Yep. I expected 5-6 wins. Huge difference between 2-3 wins and 5-6.

When was Garrard the QB for this team last?  Pretty sure we had a must win game in December the last time DG was the starter...  And yes, I'm also pretty sure we lost it.

No, but by "must win" this Thursday, I mean for the coaching staff.  I honestly believe that if we lose to the tacks and the tinhorns these last 2 games, then coaching changes will be made...  Maybe not Bradley, but Fish...

But if we can manage a win Thursday and then play close against the tinshorns, I have a feeling the entire gang comes back for 2015.

On a side note, there are some kudos that should be given to Bradley.  We went for it on 4th down at the right times.  I liked his aggressiveness on the onside-kick and the fake-punt.  And the D is really pretty darn good.

It's just special teams and the offense that are the weak-links at this point.  I'm about 91% sure Bradley comes back for 2015 if he gets this tack win...

I don't think 6 wins was an unreasonable expectation going into the season.  That would show improvement and we'd all feel better.  I just don't see how they can justify not making some type of change this offseason.

We have 2 wins...  We should have beat the 'phins.  We could have beat the squeelers...  We should have beat the tacks...  And we were right there with the bungles and now the ravens...

There was a chance to win 5-6 this year, even with a Rookie QB, Rookie WRs, and this horrible O-Line...

Yup.  I wonder if we win those games with a different coaching staff.
Quote:So if we don't match our last year's record, and it looks like we won't. Will Khan do what's right and pull the plug on the failed Bradley experiment? I don't give a crap what anyone says, this team has gotten worse, and there is no way Bradley is the right man for the job.

How do you only get 2 wins in your second year of a new regime. O line and Fisch should be gone tonight.

I don't think Khan gives a crap what you say.

You really thought the Jaguars were going to be in the game until the end?
Quote:Yup.  I wonder if we win those games with a different coaching staff.

Or even 2 or 3 of them.

Or even, maybe, 1 of them, and go into the tacks game with a chance to tie last seasons record.

I can't believe any Jag fan thought that.

I sure didn't.

Any given Sunday applies to all NFL teams except the Jags.
Some of you guys would be complaining if we won 5 or 6 games because that would but us out of range for a blue chip player.  Khan isn't ripping this whole team apart after just ripping it apart two years ago.  Enjoy the fact that we have an opportunity to get a good player, and we aren't stuck in no mans land in the draft.

OK so we have two wins, say we beat Miami, Pitt, Tacks, Bungles and the Ravens today.  That's seven wins and we're probably still in the hunt.  I know it's a tall order, but if we would have won a couple of them, we would be in great shape now to finish strong.
