If FSU makes it to the championship game. I'll be rooting for them. Because all they are doing is winning and finding a way to do it and it's an impressive thing to see
Quote:Oh, oh, is that the same team thats scheduled 11 P5 opponents?

Yeah the most HORRBILE UNDEFEATED NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team ever to exist in CFB.
Quote:Correct application of what he was supposed to do, just in wrong spot. That justifies putting hands on an offical?

The official put his hand on Winston's chest. Winston nudged the judge, trying to get under the center to snap the ball.

I see Gata nashun is already clamoring for him to be suspended.
Quote:FSU is terrible

the worse 11-0 team of all time

I'd also like to be called worse championship team of all time.  That has a nice ring to it.

I could care less if he's suspended, but if you think its ok that he pushed an official then thats bad.  If your son pushed an official during a game, you'd be ok with that?

You never put your hands on an official.  I don't care if its heat of the moment or your trying to run a quick play.  It shows he has a complete lack of respect for authority.
Quote:ACC Coordinator of officials had this to say:

"As we do every week, our office evaluated each of the games and reports from our officials. This included the detailed report from the Boston College at Florida State game, which was reviewed and accepted. The center judge's positioning, which was due to the experimental year of having an 8th official, combined with the late substitution and by rule the need to allow the defense to matchup, led to contact between himself and the player. The official believed the contact was incidental and insignificant and did not rise to the level of unsportsmanlike conduct and automatic disqualification."

Once again, people making a big deal over nothing because it's Jameis Winston. I bet if Tim Tebow had done this at UF everyone would say how much of a competitor he is.

If this happened with Alabama, we would hear FSU fans hear about how the officials are corrupt and catering to Alabama just so they'll make the championship game.  You guys are such a joke.

Your justification of this is sad and pathetic.  Your teams coaching staff and fan base continues to allow him to do the dumbest things in the world with no criticism.

There would be multiple threads about sec bias.

I had the longest FB back and forth on something I posted on Saturday night/Sunday.  They all wanted to say that it was wrong, but because it was Jameis they backed him 100%.

They all want to talk about what the FSU officials said after reviewing it.  What else were they supposed to say?

Fyi, I would do the exact same thing as Jimbo.  I would back that kid until administration told me I had to move on.  That's his ticket to a possible national title.  Why would he ever criticize him?

As a coach I would, as a fan I'd be realistic.

I dont condone anyone putting their hands on anyone where it is necessary. player vs official, official vs player.

The side judge already came out and said the contact was inadvertent hence the reasoning for not throwing the flag.

This is a non story.

I get why an FSU fan would support him to the end, for pretty similar reasons.  I had people tell me that if the UF quarterback did the same thing they would be ok with it.  It's a flat out lie.

I would be much more understanding if a fan said I don't care what he does on or off the field as long as we win a national title.  Anything else is disingenuous.

How is intentional contact inadvertent?  He intentionally pushed him.....inadvertent contact is not meant to happen.

It really makes no sense, but FSU fans keep saying it was ok that he pushed him out of the way so I guess we should all just accept it.

I love how it's being called "incidental" as if he just bumped into him or something...I've seem less thorough pat downs at airport security!!!

It makes me cringe whenever I see it say incidental or inadvertant.

The ref said something to him and jameis turned toward him and nudged him. The ref tried saying something again and jameis just shoved him out if the way.

That's the opposite of those two words.

The play clock was already ticking. Is he not allowed to get under center and survey the defense? The ref should have stood over the ball. I've never seen a ref keep a QB from lining up under center.

Again, this isn't really a big deal, but because Jameis Winston did it, he should have been flagged, ejected, and suspended.

Just like how the official put his hand on Winston right?

See BigJohn's quote from the ACC director.

I wonder how many times this will have to be reiterated?

What happened right before JW nudged him?
Quote:What happened right before JW nudged him?
The ref told him to wait

You guys will say whatever you need to justify it but when a ref tells you to wait, you wait. You certainly don't just shove him out of your way. That's pretty much the moral of the story.
