Quote:Well…. CSIII did just have a 5 catch 119yd game. I think Blake may lean that way a bit as well.
Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing.
And hopefully we start using TEs in the passing game. This may come as a shock, but alot of good teams use a large TE up the middle as a safety blanket for QBs... It seems to work for other teams...

I purposely left out shorts bc of his inconsistency. He does not fight for the ball, and he does one good thing, and the next play or game he disappears or has a terrible drop/fumble/causes an INT.
Maybe Lee will show this Sunday he shouldn't have been put on the sidelines since the season started.
Shorts can do decent things, don't get me wrong, but he's not a game changing #1 WR line I think Lee or Hurns could develop into.
Quote:Oh, man. That was a gut punch. I don't think we'll win any more games.
I think we can beat the tacks at the tinhorns... That's 2 wins...
Thank God Marcedes will be back.
I can't believe I just said that.

Agreed, I think Lee/Hurns/Shorts/DRob/BB can collectively win those games if they are all on the same page.

Lol. He's not that good, but he can create more opportunities.

I still have faith in Marcedes... I just hope Fish starts using TEs more... Clay Harbour even had some nice catches, and then we just stop targeting him.
Well I guess that will probably mean Hurns will start in his place. Then with Lewis back it shouldn't be too much more stress on Lee. If it's going to happen, it might as well happen now.
Kind of feel bad for the guy. He was hurt all preseason and training camp, then came on well this season as a rookie, now is done for the season. Hopefully he can recover enough so that he doesn't have lingering issues next season. Foot injuries can be finicky.
Shorts/Hurns/Lee with a healthy Lewis at TE and maybe a few of those two TE looks that worked a few times last year should be enough to score some points on out lesser upcoming opponents.
Here's hoping we don't lose any of those ^ guys to injury before season's end.

Bortles is leading the offense to ~16 points per game as it stands now. I'd like to see that increase to 20 or 21 over the final 6 games.

I don't get it. They have had success with Harbor and Lewis while they were in there, and they stop using them. Those 2 catching passes allows the opposing defense to lay off on our receivers more. I can't figure out Fisch's methology on offense.

Yeah - I think averaging over 20 pts per game from here out would be a very positive sign and I've been kinda' hoping for 20+ each week as a kind of benchmark for a young offense.

Huh? Lewis was on IR designated to return. He hasn't been an option and Harbor has been targeted at least 4 times in every game.
No one "stopped using them."
Quote:It's not his job to provide the talent. You do understand the role of a GM, right?
how is he NOT responsible? what world are you in?

read that article. I didn't need it. but maybe it can clarify things for you. He's the GM. He signs, trades, drafts players.....correct? in turn....bringing in talent to the team....or LACK of it...right? Maybe I'm lost. If I'm wrong....enlighten me. I'm welcome to it.

Tell me about it!
It's not like those of us who are dissatisfied with Fish are not watching the games. He just doesn't seem to understand how to have a cohesive game plan on how to attack a defense.
His first string of plays he has in the 1st quarter are solid. Then, after that... It's like he goes "deer in the headlights", and forgets what the heck he should be doing. He get's away from his gameplan way too quickly, in my opinion.
Harbor had a really good catch for 10+ yards in the first half. Why not re-run that play, or add a wrinkle to it a couple more times?
It's tough to watch at times.

20 is good for a young offense i think. averaging 20 is a little much considering how young the starters are on offense i think. If they can do 20 or so over the last 6 games it should bring their average up to 17. One big game would help, but i would rather see 24 one week then 27 then 45 followed by 6. Consistent improvement would be awesome at this point in the season.

Harbor's been targeted 4 times per game?
A. That isn't enough
B. It seems like he's been targeted only once per game...

Hard to find wins on the schedule. Maybe Tennessee at home.
