Quote:Thats why any added weight on Telvin should be gradual.

Don't even risk messing up his best attribute, being his speed/ quickness.
Yeah, kinda how they messed up Denard when he added 15 lbs right?
Quote:This might be how his career as a Jag ends, I think. If it is, going out on his best game as a Jaguar was a great way to do it.
We have plenty of cap room, we dont have to cut him, unless JT Thomas plays at a All-Pro level the rest of the year at MLB, Poz should be back, if anything he could take a pay cut
Quote:He won't need to.

They won't start a rookie MLB next year, so they won't be cutting Poz this offseason.

...and there won't be anyone who's anything great from that position reaching FA this offseason, so Poz will have to remain for one more season.

I doubt they even make him re-structure.
What makes you think we wont start a rookie LB? If we draft Perryman or McKinney we will
Quote:I think it's possible to recognize that Poz is probably our best option at his position right now, realize that there will probably be a step down with J.T. Thomas, and yet still believe that we can upgrade the position even with a healthy Poz in there.

Maybe I'm crazy, I don't know.
Carly, you're not crazy, you're smart and level headed.  You are the type of poster that makes me realize this fan base still has hope!
Whatever you think of his performances this season our inexperienced and embryonic team needs leaders like Poz who always give 100%. And for that reason I think he will be missed.

Also, I didn't know you could pull a muscle in your pecs !

lol what...
Look at it another way.  His salary and his age does not make him the long term solutiion.  This is going to give some young guys a chance.  He was playing better the last couple of weeks.

Pec concussion.
Quote:Pec concussion.
When I saw it live it looked like his arm hit the top of a players helmet really hard during the tackle.

Thus, Pec Concussion!

The concussion in the arm can readily migrate into the pectoral region.  He's really lucky it stopped there, have you ever seen someone with a stomach concussion?  It's a terrible, messy sight.

He hit his shoulder, it was Mingo who hit the guy in the groin. DRob is lucky he didn't get the peckeral concussion!

Quote:It is very easy to both realize he is not a good player and at the same time be sad about the injury.

For the ones that says [BLEEP] isn't good is not good at understanding talent. Even though we must attain his future replacement, [BLEEP] is our leading tackler since being a Jaguar...

NH3...
Having [BLEEP] on IR will be a serious blow to our D. He honestly was the lone consistent player for the past several years...

W/that being said, I also feel that we MUST draft his replacement within 2015... No Drop Off...

Man, what are you calling Poz????
Quote:Man, what are you calling Poz????
He's calling him [BAD WORD REMOVED].
Poz is a beast linebacker. He tackles well, rushes well, and is smart. He's a bit slow on coverage of faster TE's but he holds his own pretty well. There's a reason he's still on this team when Gus and Dave sent the bulk of the players they inherited packing.

Haha, you guys are killen me!

Around these parts, we call that a Diconcussion.
Quote:Didn't he finish the game?

That was probably the fourth game he finished after getting hurt. He is a tough linebacker.

Asked if he knew there was a problem, Poz said, "I knew something was wrong, but not that wrong."

Quote:I promise you guys, he will be sorely missed for the season. He was the captain of our defense

He still is a defensive captain. Although Poz can't practice or play, he can still be a leader in the locker room.

Quote:Who would be happy that anyone is hurt?

Stupid Dolphins, Bengals, Cowboys, Colts, Ravens, Giants, Texans, and Titans fans who are afraid of losing because of our defense.

Quote:Telvin Smith was the best linebacker on the field yesterday, if the Jaguars can protect him against the run, the sky is the limit for that kid, he's so atheltic and instinctive.

Telvin Smith was great, but Poz led the team in tackles.

Quote:When you win people go to the IR. Notice when we were losing we were virtually healthy with a short injured list. Branch is a bigger loss to me.

Where were you from 2009-2012? During those four years, Gene Smith put too many players on IR as a way to prevent other teams from picking them up so we had one of the longest injured reserve lists in the NFL all four seasons. He never had the DTR option and we never had a winning record.
