Quote:To anyone with functioning eyes.

Since Gratz went down with injury McCray's been a stud at the position.

Coming from you, this is a laugh riot.  Everyone, including yourself, knows you need your eyes checked.  You just have no clue.

"Stud"... just asinine.  But then, that's what our court jester brings us.
Quote:Gratz has been below average and Ball is just average, yes agreed on both.

McCray + a healthy Colvin will make for a significant upgrade as a CB tandem than what we had starting the season at those 2 spots.

McCray has been just as average.

Gratz fell off, and McCray simply gave what Gratz used to.  Average.

You just won't give McCray his proper credit since you wike Gwatz and are mad that McCray usurped the starting position.

Nope. McCray has played well.

Gratz sucks.

LOL... not everyone is fueled by blind agenda like yourself.  Not surprising that's your angle.

They've all been no better than average, just as I stated (and you wasted no time spinning) from the start.

McCray is better now than Gratz ever was.
Gratz looked promising at times last year and looked like a rookie at times as well. He didn't make the step forward required to keep the spot in year two.   It's very disappointing - but it happens.   Based on the way he has come up against the run and sniffed out a screen or two/ willingness to hit - I could see him possibly becoming a solid nickel.  Just seems to have the instincts to play there from my meaningless armchair perspective.   (Blackmon isn't getting it done this year - so something's gotta give anyway))

McCray has come in and played mostly well.   I've only notice a few moments of hesitation or biting the wrong way from him - and he hasn't been picked on much.   The jury is still out - but based on his play filling in for Ball last year - and the little we've seen this season - he looks like a competent mid-tier corner with a little upside and  some good length/range  working in his favor.

McCray actually defended a pass this year. In this defense, that's saying something.

So has Ball. And he has the only INT in the CB group.
Quote:Colvin and Telvin Smith should really improve this defense next year.

Like most people are saying, 2015 for us is starting to look really good.
Agreed.  Most people recognize this...but there are those few who still struggle to look at the bigger picture.

If you really think he only defended one pass, you did not watch the Steelers game. He won the starting job by defending passes.
McCray has been impressive. I already feel like he's one of those corners you can line up man to man and more than often than not will hold his own. Not bad for a 7th round pick.

But we run a zone defense, not MTM.
I agree with enigma, I don't see the Colvin hype. Bill Parcells used to say something like not getting out the HOF anointing oils just yet and it's so true in the case. The guy hasn't even played an NFL snap yet nor has he even played a down of any football in 9-10 months.

I'm sure I even see the wisdom in seeing him on the field this year.

I don't think they aught to push it either....but easing him in on a few select plays per game isn't a big deal, IMO.

Now, inserting him into the starting lineup this fast would be foolish, I'd agree.

Disagree. Gratz looked very good in his early starts. He definitely has fallen off but maybe he needs that competition. Time will tell but you need a solid nickel half the time anyways.

McCray has played well. He has made some good plays on critical downs. I think hell only get better.

Everybody keep singing the same tune every year.. next year we will be better.. So tired of seeing it and hearing it. Smh how do you know Colvin will be any good or Smith will improve? You dont! Im so tired with the INSANITY attitude on this board. Im ready to win now! Tired of waiting and being content like you guys.

Realizing we don't have enough talent on this roster to "win" a lot of games "now" doesn't equate to being "content."
