Who cuts Boselli's check? He's a yes man. Plus just like some great players make terrible coaches some also make for bad announcers/analyst. All he does is scream and talk over people. He sucks at his job. Joeckel for where he was drafted looks like a bust right now.

5 games at OLT. 5.
Plus coming off of a broken leg.
This is one case where people are overreacting.

Quote:5 games at OLT. 5.I said right now which means these 5 games. He doesn't look good. If or when he looks the part I'll give him credit. If you're a detriment to the team because of a leg problem or inexperience you shouldn't be out there because he's supposed to be protecting somebody way more important than him on the field. They cant let the qb get murdered from the blindside because of dead weight for whatever reason he's not playing good.

He'll be in on Jaguars Monday in about 15 minutes. Feel free to call in and ask him about it.

He also stunk as a RT last year ... before his injury.

Quote:Remember how bad Monroe was at this stage?
Not as good as Barnes at the same stage, but better than Joeckel.
So we wait four years for Joeckel to develop into as good a LT as Monroe, and then trade him for a ham sandwich because 'he didn't want to re-sign.'

Yep, I remember bust being thrown around after Monroe's first two seasons in the league.
Funny thing is now most of Joeckel's detractors pine for the days of Eugene at LT.

Joeckel is struggling right now. Run blocking is very inconsistent and going against the opposing teams top pass rusher week in and week out doesn't seem to be treating him well.
It probably doesn't Help that he has no one on that line to look up too or mentor him. Every single one of them is just trying to survive out there, most of them get their [BLEEP] pushed In on a weekly basis.
I don't even want to imagine what that meeting room is like watching the game film on Monday.

I'm not saying that he was all that good, but to invalidate Boselli's opinion under the speculation that he "didn't watch game tape" is stupid.
Did anyone here watch more "game tape" than Boselli? That hasn't stopped Joeckel's opposition from critiquing him.

I wish you'd apply the same logic to every player you judge harshly.

It doesn't apply to players he doesn't like

Would you care to share with us your plan for where to get new tackles from when the old ones retire? What with not being able to ever start one who's inexperienced and them not being able to get experience without playing? Are you planning on riding the existing LTs until they're into their 80s, or just abolishing the position at all and finding QBs who are very good at avoiding pass rushers?

No. Monroe was pretty good by his 2nd year. He certainly wasn't getting blown up and knocked on his butt every week like Jokell.

Maybe his second full year. Luke hasn't had that yet.

Soooo true. Funny how a bit of time changes perspective. People were killing EM.

Wasn't a need to have an inexperienced tackle when you already had a good one in place. Fixing a position that was already secured just to say you're totally rebuilding is stupid. Ozzie Newsome is a way better gm than Caldwell and it was a reason he jumped on that giveaway so quick. Now you don't know what you have at the position and may need to replace that in a couple years if Joeckel doesn't tighten up with his soft playing game.

So we patiently wait 4 years for Joeckel to improve, and then trade him for next to nothing and draft the next LT to develop for four years? That seems to be the current philosophy.
