He got sacked 6 times by the Titans, and he's still got the Bengals, Ravens, and the Texans twice with Watt AND Clowney ahead of him.  I just hope he doesn't break in half before next season.

We have below average running backs and below average offensive line run blockers.

That equals to about 2 yards/pop.

I'll gladly take one of the premier running backs this year and not think twice about it. The myth that you can find running backs anywhere is a lie.

That may be true if you have the cowboys offensive lines.

We need a running back that sometimes makes something out of nothing, similarly to what Bortles does as a QB.

Ugh, didn't even think about that

Exactly and the ZBS is supposed to be helpful in lessening the QB hits/ sacks.

I wonder if it was a fluke or if the Titans pass rush has been improving of late?
Is it because of the bolts in his neck?

Quote:Dude, wake up. You could install Adrian Peterson on this team and his YPC would suck. The ZBS scheme that we have is a large part of the problem. The RB we have are a lesser part of the problem.
I agree with this post totally!  I hate the ZBS.
Quote:All 3 would be servicable if the blocking scheme were effective.

Quote:Got nothing to do with scheme.  The guys blockin in key areas are not good at power blocking.  Luke and Linder.  They're good at the second level but not the first.  I'd expect the running game to pick up when Marcedes comes back.  No help for the Oline coming this season so it doesn't really matter.
sadly--- and oddly...

I think you're both right

Well, also don't forget that the tacks brought an extra man on almost every single pass play.

The coaches of the tacks knew our O-Line was weak and they put the screws to us HARD.

BB5 did his best to over-come everything. But there's only so much a QB can do under this line...

Expect more of the same by every team moving forward. The O-Line needs a miracle to help protect the QB. I've given up on the rushing game for the most part.

Though who can deny that Storm and Shoelace are flashing at times, which is also nice to see.
Quote:ZBS isnt power blocking, so we dont know if they are any good at it or not.

You can tell when Luke gets blown backwards 4 yards on an inside handoff.  Not that hard to see.
I honestly thought the ZBS would have Our offense looking similar to what Houston looked like schaub. But we have the Pre School version because they went deep to mix with the screens
Quote:I wonder if Gus will scrap the zone blocking after bye week.

I am really hoping for some noticeable changes after the bye week myself.

Of course I would like them earlier, but just don't think that will happen.

At least last year some things changed after the bye week and they were able to win a few games.

Hopefully they can do that again this year.

We'll see.
I don't care about the scheme. I want us to just draft the best available linemen regardless of what they do well.

Sometimes I think these coaches are overcomplicating things.

Give me big mean power blockers on the inside with the athletic joeckel at LT and a good RB that can actually make LBs and safeties miss and we will have ourselves a running game.
I'm confused by this thread, wasn't Blake the problem last week? How could such a solid and consistent message board change the target of it's ire in just 6 days? Bradley must've drawn the short straw this week.

You could make the argument he's already the best player on our team.

That wouldn't be a very hard argument to make.

Don't the Vikings run ZBS, too?

Either way, this clearly isn't working out for us, and I don't imagine running a different scheme would be worse.
In a game and a half less, Blake Bortles has more passing yards than Russell Wilson. Stirring the pot a bit.
And wasn't nominated for Rookie of the Week. That makes sense because we lost. But still, Carr should have been nominated, too.

Jedd: "Here guys.  I drew up a new playbook for you to learn.  Doesn't really matter that most of you are rookies who'll be learning a different playbook with different blocking assignments completely different to everything we've been doing since OTA's.  You've got one week.  I'll see you at practice."

lol ok
Quote:Highest third down completion percentage in the entire league, highest completion percentage for rookie in NFL history at 67.8, and this is all while playing behind an inept offensive line, five rookies on offense, no running game, and is plagued by drops. We've all made these excuses for Gabbert, but Gabbert couldn't rise above it. It took Gabbert 21 starts to get 300 yards and Blake did it in game three. We have a quarterback. He looks like a veteran. Even after interceptions and sacks, he comes back with no fear. its been 4 games, but he's come out the gate fast.
They've both played about 3 games ( i guess Blake got an extra half)...
