Nice comparisons DtM ---I've been dying here to have a QB that doesn't struggle to put up 200 yards per game (as we've had here for countless years)
Quote:Regarding Bortles' Pro Day: I still get a kick out of Gus hugging Bortles like a dude reuniting with his wife after a 2-year stint in Iraq. :thumbsup:I knew he was the draft pick when I saw that in the background when those espn people were talking. Of course if nobody in front of us drafted him. He literally ran across the damn field to catch up with Blake.
Quote:I wonder if Gus will scrap the zone blocking after bye week. You scrap this pretty boy scheme and you'll have to scrap the majority of these lineman. They're all weak and light in the [BLEEP]. We're spinning wheels under this coach.
Quote:Blaked? It's what will happen to other teams very soon.
That sounds past tense.
Did the dude die already?
Quote:They've both played about 3 games ( i guess Blake got an extra half)...
QB Comp / Att/ %/ yards/ yrdspg/ tds/ int/ Rating
Chad Henne 42 / 78/ 53.8 / 492/ 164/ 3/ 1/ 80.7
Blake Bortles 97/ 143/ 67.8/ 1004/251/ 4/ 7/ 76.8
Quote:Wow.. the disparity in yards is staggering. I mean I knew Bortles was playing lights out compared to Henne, but, just.. wow..Not that i'm disagreeing that Bortles is better, but you do realize he has nearly twice the attempts? The completion percentage is the staggering stat.
Quote:They've both played about 3 games ( i guess Blake got an extra half)...i'm starting to feel like ints are way overrated by QB metrics especially when they're viewed in a vacuum
QB Comp / Att/ %/ yards/ yrdspg/ tds/ int/ Rating

Quote:Hopefully Bortles doesn't end up being the Larry Fitzgerald of quarterbacks.
Quote:Jedd: "Here guys. I drew up a new playbook for you to learn. Doesn't really matter that most of you are rookies who'll be learning a different playbook with different blocking assignments completely different to everything we've been doing since OTA's. You've got one week. I'll see you at practice."
lol ok
Quote:Wouldn't he just be Dan Marino then?
Quote:I would never call Blake Bortles a monster, but nobody can watch him play and say he will never be one of the best NFL quarterbacks.I was speaking figuratively
Quote:I think Blake is going to be a top QB in this league. I loved the pick when it happened, and so far he has been better than I could have hoped.
But I will voice one concern I have with him...
This last game in particular I noticed him dropping the ball realllllly low in his wind up throwing the ball. Lots of wasted motion, and I'm afraid it might have something to do with DBs jumping his passes (aside from WRs getting no separation)
I mean a couple times it was really bad. Honestly it kinda reminded me of a certain Florida Gator QB we all love and miss.
Anybody else notice this?
Quote:Yeah I've noticed that too. I was trying to respond to this yesterday but i was in my iPad and couldn't show you the illustration (much like right now too lol) but look how low he winds it up in this article cover http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2014/10/13/6970505/jaguars-pro-football-focus-blake-bortles-first-positive-grade
