Quote:youre in the minority, but it doesnt matter. the point is florida is one of, if not the most attractive coaching job in college football, so the gators can get a big time name in here and thats what they should do.

no, the point is that Stoops will not be leaving OU to come to UF.  I know UF is a big time job and nowhere did I say it wasn't.  The truth is it ISNT the MOST attractive right now.  It might be the MOST attractive that's just AVAILABLE. The team is in shambles and it's not going to be something a well-grounded coach like Stoops wants to deal with when he already has built a CFB super power elsewhere.

Quote:no, you didn't read the many other reasons I noted as well?
I did, and you didn't read mine is the question I supposed I would pose to then. Take him out, and there are a very few that can do what he has done in that offense.
Quote:ok and again, who got prescott there? did he magically just appear and say "HEY COACH MULLEN, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE AN OK TEAM HERE, YOU KNOW WHAT? IM GONNA COME PUT YOU OVER THE TOP!"

mullen recruited prescott and every single other player on that team. his success isnt because of prescott, its because he recruited well and is a good coach.
You're right. Gators should go get Mullen.
Quote:"they're going to lose"

I guess you missed the bowl game where they destroyed Alabama.  Sorry for disagreeing.  No where did I "bash" anything in this thread.  Im not alone when I say OU to UF is not a step up.  And it really makes no sense for Stoops unless he wants to make his life more difficult.
No you haven't been, and no one said you were wrong for that opinion. That opinion is just not shared by those in the college football world.
Quote:the last time OU won a championship was 14 years ago.

in the BCS era the SEC have won 9 of the 16 championships, the big 12 have won 2, and one of them was oklahoma's 14 years ago.

What would you say is a better job? Oklahoma or Auburn?

Nick Saban, Bob Stoops and everybody else are just hoping to get that call from the Gators cause it's so wonderful over there

how is the team in shambles? theyre a viable qb away from winning the SEC east.

no matter what you cant say that stoops wont be leaving OU. you dont know him or what he would decide if florida decided to pursue him. ill take this weeks lottery numbers though.

great argument. again, you offer no facts or logic. just you saying something ridiculous like it works as an intelligent comment. im done arguing with you on this one.

considering he's been at OU for forever with great success and this will be what? the fourth time the job has opened up since he left UF? I'd say Im closer to being right than you are.

FACT:  The Gators are probably the 8th best team in the SEC, if that.  This idea that they are the top dog in the SEC is ancient history by now.

What is so ridiculous about realizing that the UF job is not the greatest thing in the world?  There are a dozen other power house schools that are just as good of a job.  OU being one of them.

Let's be honest.  Joe Gatorfan is annoying.  Aint nobody got time for that.

id say oklahoma, its not by a ton but i dont believe that auburn season in and season out can keep up what theyre doing the last couple years. the cam newton year was obviously huge, but this is a tough one, it remains to be seen how recruiting will play out.

can auburn put together recruiting classes to compete with teams like alabama and florida? if they can then auburn could pass oklahoma.

that being said auburn, even at that point, wouldnt make sense to leave oklahoma. i think there are only 2 or 3 jobs in the country that would make sense for stoops to leave oklahoma, i think florida would be one of those to consider.

i dont really want stoops as the gators coach though. i was merely arguing the point that it is an attractive job to just about anyone outside of nick saban and a couple others.

id say congratulations.

thanks for the input, again, im done having this argument with you. youre irrational and offer nothing interesting to discuss.

oh ya, then why did you quote me in the first place?  cause what I said was so uninteresting?  all I did was agree with somebody that Stoops is not leaving OU for UF and that apparently was a big deal to you.

It proves none of that. Just pointing out your opinion is in the minority. Big time.

I had a similar reply queued up. Then I stopped before posting and just figured not worth it. Can't know what in shambles means.

I don't even get why that matters.  Im sure whoever said Miss. St. would be a title contender this year was also in the minority.

Who here has suggested that the Florida Gators are too dogs right now ? I'll answer it for you. No one. What are you talking about ??

You're free to your opinion. But like any opinion it needs to be fact based. And yours falls short of that.

Which is irrelevant! You kidding me ??

Ranking a college HC job is based on many facts. Florida ranks at the top of almost all those big requirements to be considered a top landing spot. Whys this hard to see for you ?
