Quote:Who here has suggested that the Florida Gators are too dogs right now ? I'll answer it for you. No one. What are you talking about ??
You're free to your opinion. But like any opinion it needs to be fact based. And yours falls short of that.
I've been pretty clear what I'm talking about, and that is that the UF job is not the most attractive job in the country. It's definitely ONE OF THEM, not disputing that.
But the fact that people in here think a guy like Stoops would drop everything he's built just for a chance to come to UF proves that people think this is the most wonderful job anybody could ever have in football. It just isn't for the reasons I've already stated. One of them being how far they've fallen down the SEC totem poll.

Theres been one poster who said he'd like Foley to kick the tires on Stoops. Not much more then that.
You've come off like UF is a top 20 job. In reality it's at worst too 3, 2 by most and 1 by some.

Right, and I tried to explain when the Texas job came open last year that it wasn't the best job in the country. There are several jobs that are just as good, pay as much, and have better likelihood of success.
I listen to the radio as well and I listen to Gator fans talk. They, like Texas, think this place is God's gift to college football that anybody would have to be crazy to turn down. It's more than just one poster in here.

so now he is arguing with you because of things that people on the radio have said..... i would probably just let this one go man. youre just wasting your time.

How dare I suggest that UF isnt the best job in the world....
Quote:how is the team in shambles? theyre a viable qb away from winning the SEC east.
no matter what you cant say that stoops wont be leaving OU. you dont know him or what he would decide if florida decided to pursue him. ill take this weeks lottery numbers though.
I'm pretty sure that him turning down the Florida job in the past when it was open is a good sign that he will turn it down again.

You're right. Those sites I referenced were all run by Gators.

You can, say that all you want. There isn't a problem with that. No one is here beating their chests saying UF is the place to be, bar none. Simply pointing out what the masses think. You seem to have an issue with that.

Its the same people who gushed over the Texas job last year.
It's basically the same argument being made on behalf of UF. UT was saying "We can get Saban if we want Saban." No, no you cant. The job is not that great. Sorry. And who did they end up with? Charlie Strong, a guy previously coaching at a smaller school who was ready for a step up. That is the type UF will likely end up with.

Who here has said they'd get Stoops if UF wanted him ?
Being one of the top jobs in the country doesn't equate to bring able to bring in whoever you wish. No one has said that either.

hmm, ya im pretty sure ive seen more than a couple people suggest he is a possibility for UF

You are right. Everyone else is wrong. Why are you making this into a type of guy who UF may end up hiring or not? That is besides the point. Has nothing to do with it. If they end up with a Charlie Strong type, that doesn't make what is being said untrue. Heck, Urban Meyer was a Charlie Strong type, but again, all of that is beside the point.

I've seen one, two? Say kick the tires on Stoops, just ask. See what's going on. That's it. Not the #1 priority.
haha, I like seeing badger annoy fellow gator fans.

I can recall one, and that was achilles saying he'd like Foley to kick the tires. Not that he should be the guy. Could be more then one, but off top of my head I can't remember another. To lazy to go back through and look too.

Sadly I don't think it's just to annoy, though I hope it is because if he believes some of what he is saying, then oh boy.

Yep. Personally I'd prefer mark stoops.
I read that Mullen was interviewed and talked about how he really likes where he's at with miss st. He said that the Florida gators fan base used to chant "fire Dan Mullen." And goes on to say that miss st fans also did that last year.
At first sounded like no way would he consider Florida but then it just turned into him saying how those things are incredibly disrespectful because the staff, top down, put everything they have into those programs, even their families.

I personally wouldn't want either. Stoops because I think it'd be a tremendous waste of time.

this whole argument started because I said Stoops isn't an option. I'm not making this thread about anything other than what it's about; UF's next coach...

What? Nothing I have said is ground breaking and others agree.... so
